Good afternoon, blog friends, sorry for my absence yesterday but I was a bit busy, in fact today I'll tell you a little about yesterday, I had to run some errands in the city, so I went to Pistoia (now I live in another city but I still haven't lost the habit of calling my old city a city), luckily the morning was nice and I took advantage of it to stroll around Piazza San Lorenzo, I always love the new square, I had to go back to the dentist to adjust my dentures but I fear I'll have to go again next week because yesterday they tightened them too much and my gums are a bit sore, anyway, I'm getting used to the dentures and I'm sure that once they're perfectly adjusted I won't even notice I'm wearing them, anyway it was a pleasant walk. Then I went back home and had to do various errands (I still have a thousand things to do from the move; cleaning this house is truly a nightmare!!).
Buenas tardes, amigos del blog, disculpen mi ausencia de ayer, pero estuve un poco ocupada. De hecho, hoy les contaré un poco sobre ayer. Tuve que hacer algunos recados en la ciudad, así que fui a Pistoia (ahora vivo en otra ciudad, pero aún no he perdido la costumbre de llamar ciudad a mi antigua ciudad). Por suerte, la mañana fue agradable y aproveché para pasear por la Piazza San Lorenzo. Siempre me encanta la plaza nueva. Tuve que volver al dentista para que me ajustara la dentadura postiza, pero me temo que tendré que volver la semana que viene porque ayer me la apretaron demasiado y tengo las encías un poco doloridas. En fin, me estoy acostumbrando a la dentadura postiza y estoy segura de que una vez que esté perfectamente ajustada, ni siquiera notaré que la llevo puesta. De todas formas, fue un paseo agradable. Luego volví a casa y tuve que hacer varios recados (¡todavía tengo mil cosas que hacer de la mudanza; limpiar esta casa es una verdadera pesadilla!).
Anyway, thank goodness I took my morning stroll because by mid-afternoon the weather started to change. Here in Italy, they call it crazy April because the weather often has the bad habit of changing suddenly. So yesterday it started raining and getting cold, and I decided to make one of my signature dishes: stewed beans and sausage. I often make it on cold days; it's delicious, flavorful, and my husband loves it; he never has any left over. Then, after dinner, we were really full and tired (it's good, but it's certainly not a light dish), and we sat on the couch and watched some mind-numbing movies (silly B-rated horror films) with our cats, who were really funny and bored because the rain makes them nervous and they stared at us with funny looks. Today I'll have to go out soon and go back to do some moving stuff. We still have some things in the old house, and tonight I'll have to come up with something to cook. See you soon, blog friends!
En fin, menos mal que di mi paseo matutino porque a media tarde el tiempo empezó a cambiar. Aquí en Italia, lo llaman el loco abril porque el tiempo suele cambiar de repente. Ayer empezó a llover y a hacer frío, así que decidí preparar uno de mis platos estrella: alubias guisadas con salchicha. Suelo prepararlo en los días fríos; está riquísimo, lleno de sabor, y a mi marido le encanta; nunca le sobra nada. Después de cenar, estábamos muy llenos y cansados (está bueno, pero desde luego no es un plato ligero), así que nos sentamos en el sofá a ver unas películas tontas (películas de terror de serie B) con nuestros gatos, que estaban muy graciosos y aburridos porque la lluvia los ponía nerviosos y nos miraban con caras raras. Hoy tengo que salir pronto y volver para hacer la mudanza. Todavía tenemos algunas cosas en la casa vieja, y esta noche tendré que pensar en qué cocinar. ¡Hasta pronto, amigos del blog!
