Here's my entry for the BeerSaturday 398 hosted by @detlev with a new IPA brewed by BreWskey in Montreal. It's called NZ Mark, and it was in the NEIPA fridge at my favorite beer store, Lejeune & Frères on Duluth St., not far from Bld. Laurent Blvd. I was a little disappointed when I got home and took a better look at the can, but as I poured it into my glass, I understood why it was in the NEIPA fridge...

Voici ma participation au BeerSaturday 398 organisé par @detlev avec une nouvelle IPA brassée par BreWskey à Montréal. Il s'agit de la NZ Mark, elle se trouvait dans le frigo des NEIPA dans mon magasin de bières préféré., Lejeune & Frères sur la rue Duluth, pas très loin du boulevard Saint Laurent. Un peu déçu en regardant mieux la canette rentré chez moi, mais en la versant dans mon verre, j'ai compris pourquoi...

I've been presenting the microbrewery BreWskey for a few beers now. But as a reminder, it was founded in 2015 by Karine Amyotte, Guillaume Couraud and Derrick Robertson, friends with a passion for beer but also whisky, hence the name. They started the adventure as taproom then in 2019 brewed their own beers, mostly IPAs.

Cela fait quelques bières que je présente de la microbrasserie BreWskey. Mais pour rappel, elle a été fondée en 2015 par Karine Amyotte, Guillaume Couraud et Derrick Robertson, des amis passionnés par la bière mais aussi le whisky d'où le nom. Ils commencent l'aventure comme taproom puis en 2019 brassent leurs propres bières, surtout des IPA.

🍺 Tasting / Dégustation :

The NZ Mark IPA is an IPA with 7.2% alcohol and New Zealand hops Motueka and Riwaka. As I said in the introduction, when I poured it into my glass, I immediately noticed the distinctive color of NEIPAs, mango yellow, although here it's slightly paler. On the palate, there's a nice fruity taste with a touch of sesame (supposedly brought on by the Riwaka hops). Although the high alcohol content is noticeable, I like this type of beer in winter, especially after a day outdoors. So far, (NE)IPAs from BreWskey have never disappointed me.

La NZ Mark IPA est une IPA avec 7.2% d'alcool avec les houblons de Nouvelle-Zélande Motueka et Riwaka. Comme je le disais en introduction, quand je l'ai versée dans mon verre, de suite j'ai remarqué cette couleur distinctive des NEIPA, jaune mangue bien que là c'est légèrement plus pâle. En bouche, on retrouve un bon goût fruité avec une touche de sésame (soit-disant amenée par le houblon Riwaka). Même si on sent bien le fort taux d'alcool, j'aime bien ce type de bière en hiver, surtout après une journée en plein air. Pour l'instant, les (NE)IPA de BreWskey ne m'ont jamais déçu.

Design

On this can, we find the BreWskey design with this funny character, often the same but with a different outfit in a different landscape. I don't see the link with beer, but I think it's a pretty good design. What do you think of this design?

Sur cette canette, on retrouve le design de BreWskey avec ce drôle de personnage, souvent le même mais avec une tenue différente dans un paysage différent. Je ne vois pas le lien avec la bière mais c'est plutôt réussi comme dessin, enfin je trouve. Et vous ?
