Here's my entry for the BeerSaturday 415 organized by @detlev, it's a New England Pale Ale brewed in Quebec by Le Castor, the Haiku. It's a type of beer I've come to appreciate over the winter. The first tastes are quite surprising with this very pronounced fruity side. I had already tasted a beer from this brewer Soleil de Sinaloa, a lager, without too much success. C'est un type de bière que j'ai appris à apprécier pendant cet hiver. Les premières fois sont assez suprenantes avec ce côté fruité très prononcé. J'avais déjà gouté une bière de ce brasseur Soleil de Sinaloa, une lager, sans trop de succès. Est-ce que cette NEIPA sera meilleure ?

Founded in 2012,Le Castor is an organic microbrewery with its roots in an authentic story of passion and conversion. Indeed, co-founders Daniel Addey-Jibb and Murray Elliott discovered the world of brewing during a carpentry course in Scotland, where they fell under the spell of traditional English ales. Back in Canada, they started out in construction, but the financial crisis of 2008 forced them to rethink their professional future. Haiku** is a 5.5% alcohol NEIPA hopped with three varieties: Idaho 7, Citra and El Dorado. In the glass, it has a beautiful, rather cloudy, pale orange color, topped by a beautiful white collar. This is what had been missing from their Soleil de Sinaloa lager, but maybe I stumbled across the wrong can that day. Getting back to this NEIPA, on the palate, there's that nice fruity edge that erases the bitterness of the beer with a nice creamy texture. Le Castor rises in my esteem for the brewery 😀.

La Haiku est une NEIPA avec 5.5% d'alcool houblonnée avec trois variétés : Idaho 7, Citra et El Dorado. Dans le verre, on a une belle robe d'un orange pâle assez trouble surmontée d'un beau col blanc. C'est ce qui avait manqué pour leur lager Soleil de Sinaloa mais peut être que j'ai tombé sur une mauvaise canette ce jour là. Revenons à cette NEIPA, en bouche, on retrouve ce bon côté fruité qui efface l'amertume de la bière avec une belle texture crémeuse. Le Castor remonte dans mon estime 😀.
Design
I really like the design of this can with its Japanese flair. Normal with this name Haïku which recalls the poetic form of the country, short with a strict structure. Not easy to write. But this beer embodies the principle of “doing more with less”.
J'aime beaucoup le design de cette canette avec ce côté japonais. Normal avec ce nom Haïku qui rappelle la forme poétique du pays, courte avec une structure stricte. Pas évident à écrire. Mais cette bière incarne bien ce principe "en faire plus avec moins".
