He brought me Autopop Cherry Cola, brewed by Blood Brothers in Toronto. I'm pretty traditional when it comes to beer, and this is a sour ale mixed with cherry-flavored cola. But it's the thought that counts...
Voici ma participation au BeerSaturday 435 avec une bière qu'un ami m'a offerte. Il sait que j'aime la bière mais pas quel type j'apprécie. Car il m'a apporté la Autopop Cherry Cola brassée par la brasserie Blood Brothers à Toronto. Je suis plutôt traditionnel niveau bière, et là il s'agit d'une Sour Ale mélangée avec du cola gout cerise. Mais c'est surtout le geste qui compte...
This week we're venturing outside the Quebec City region to Toronto, Ontario. The Blood Brothers brewery is located in the artistic Geary Avenue district, housed in a renovated century-old stable. It also offers a tempting menu, a place to remember for my next trip to Toronto.
Cette semaine nous sommes en dehors de la région de Québec pour aller en Ontario dans la ville reine Toronto. La brasserie Blood Brothers se trouve dans le quartier artistique de Geary Avenue, installée dans une ancienne écurie centenaire rénovée. Elle propose aussi un menu alléchant, une adresse à retenir pour mon prochain passage dans cette ville.

The Blood Brothers brewery was founded in 2015 by Brayden and Dustin Jones, two brothers, as the name suggests. Family is important to the owners; it means sharing experiences and growing together, not just blood ties. Now well-established in Toronto, their premises also house a restaurant serving Southern Comfort food, including smoked meat and ribs. Sounds tempting! 😀
La brasserie Blood Brothers a été créée en 2015 par Brayden et Dustin Jones, deux frères comme le nom l'indique. La famille est importante pour les propriétaires, cela signifie vivre des expériences et grandir ensemble pas seulement les liens de sang. Maintenant bien installé à Toronto, leur local accueille également un restaurant servant de la cuisine "Southern Comfort" avec du smoked meat et des ribs. Cela donne envie 😀.
🍺 Tasting / Dégustation :
The Autopop Cherry Cola is a light sour beer with cherry cola and 5.3% alcohol. It's not the type of beer I usually buy; I'm more traditional, as I mentioned in the introduction. But it was given to me, a great opportunity to try something new. In the glass, you can see that cherry cola color. The beer is very fizzy, and the head disappears quickly.
On the nose, you can definitely smell the cherry cola, and this is also noticeable on the palate. It has a very tart character, which is to be expected from a sour beer. This confirmed that this isn't really my style of beer—I prefer more exotic blends. But it gave me the chance to discover a beer I would never have bought myself.
La Autopop Cherry Cola est une sure légère avec du cola aux cerises avec 5.3% d'alcool. Ce n'est pas le type de bière que j'achète habituellement, je suis plus traditionnel comme je l'ai dis en intro. Mais elle m'a été offerte, belle opportunité pour découvrir autre chose. Dans le verre, on retrouve cette couleur de cola aux cerises. La bière est très effervescente et la mousse disparait rapidement.
Au nez, on sent bien le cola aux cerises et celui ci se ressent aussi en bouche. Elle a un côté très acidulé, logique pour une Sure. Cela m'a confirmé que ce n'est pas mon type de bière, les mélanges un peu exotique. Mais cela m'a fait l'occasion de découvrir une bière que je n'aurai jamais acheté personnellement.
Design
However, the design of Autopop Cherry Cola is quite nice with the car and the 80s-style typography in gold and red. I like it. On the back, you'll find the main information about the beer, in French, which is rather rare for a product from Ontario. The label must have been specially made for Quebec.
Par contre le design de Autopop Cherry Cola est plutôt sympa avec cette voiture et cette typographie style année 80 en or et rouge. J'aime bien. Derrière on retrouve les principales informations sur la bière, en français, plutôt rare pour un produit provenant de l'Ontario. L'étiquette a dû être spécialement fait pour le Québec.
