Entering the Business World; Resisting Gluttony and Managing Money

in Hive PHlast year

Business is business and it should be separated from the personal life

I bet when you read the title of my blog today, you didn't see how two things are connected but I'll take the stage to show you how.

Engaging into the business world!

Finally, after years of thinking of owning a business, I finally had one and I hope that this will not only last for a very short time but until I could reach my goals. I initially planned on crochet but making things requires lots of labor, time and concentration which I don't have here in my workplace because of the additional workloads added to me since the boss decided to sell his feeds commercially and more tollers had been tolling ion his company.

One of the reasons why I wanted to build my own business is that I don't want to be just an employee for the rest of mu life. I wanted to be my own boss where I am in charge of my time and finances(of course this won't be easy and won't happen in an instant).

For now, I am still employed and 10 dollars pay a day will just only made me survive, not live. 10 dollars is just enough, for my family's daily expenses and if we don't tighten our budget, that 10 dollars is not enough. I want to live my life, buy the things I need without thinking about where would I get money to use for the next day's needs. I was even discouraged that we were excluded from the salary increase they had in January this year. I thought of applying to a government office but I still don't have my agriculturist license and I doubt I could take an exam and pass this year so to grow my money, I thought business is a great way.

Soon if things will fall into place, I will be able to do that and live my workplace for good. but if things go different way, at least I am now building my way to business as early as today and still go to work to have a secure income everyday while I do my hustle in part time. I honestly powered down to have my finances for this business but still kept some in my wallet just in case I fail, I wont lose everythingI worked hard for.

How it all Started

On my vacation last March, we had a family reunion and we got there too early and we used that time to bond with my mother and sister who lived in Valencia Bukidnon. They took us with them to the heart of the city, on a fish landing area and on the way back, we bought banana crackers for consumption then I realized I went to the right place at the right time.

There I met a young entrepreneur, the owner of the banana crackers business; We first connected in Facebook and communication with him was hard. He was too buy to read my message and then i asked for his phone number for faster communication.

I received my first of set of order on April 7 with the help of my brother in law who transported the package with his Skylab motorcycle and boarded it on a van towards my place.

After opening the box, I took a photo shoot and posted it online. No one inquired about it yet but I did not lose hope because I know I am still starting and the beginnings are the hardest.

As of now I am slowly building my market; building connections to people I know who have stores (because I don't have one and my Facebook account could not reach many people). I know soon enough, people will look for me and my products.

Resisting Gluttony

Now that I have my food business, my biggest challenge was to avoid eating the delicious banana crackers I have. Every flavor is tasty and I just can't resist whenever I come near them.

Most of the stocks were stored at home and my kids loved to eat them too! I brought some at my workplace; 5 packs I asked to display on the canteen but it's been three days and it did not sell the stocks I had in my drawer were slowly bought by my co-workers and I am very happy to say that today, I finally resisted on opening a pack and eat. It's different when you get hungry and you know you have access to food, right? I just have to learn to trick my mind and soon I could fully resist temptation for my business to grow and succeed.

Managing Money

Another challenge I had is to manage the money on hand. I spent over $53 for initial investment and I could not get it all back in one time because the product sells one by one.

Here comes the daily expenses and sometimes I had to take the money I had from the small business which is totally not okay. Soon if I won't manage it properly, and separate the money intended for business and for daily expenses, my business would die soon and I don't want it to happen.

But I can't just stand and look that the needs we have won't be met because I had to keep the money for business alone.

Starting and managing a business is not an easy task for someone who already had many responsibilities but I had to get through this to reach my goal even if it means I had to work hard, go through several adjustments and sacrifice sleep and going over my introvert personality to gain connections, sell my products and gain customers over time.

In God's grace, guide and mercy, my dreams will come when on the right time.

This will be all for now, thank you so much for your attention and time! Keep safe and stay happy!
