Greetings, Fabulous Felines and Hoomans of Hivelandia and surrounding communities!
I hope your week is going well!
Shangri and Nala
Well, it has now been four weeks since Shangri and Nala found their home with us... and I'm happy to say that they seem a lot more at home now!
Whereas they are still very much "bonded," we can tell that they are feeling more comfortable because they are exploring the house independently of each other... where, before, they were almost always very close to each other, all the time.
Nala, contemplating a rainy day
For example, earlier today Shangri and Curator Cat were play fighting and running around like mad things while Nala was quietly in the cat tower by the window, watching the rain fall... letting the "silly boys" do their thing.
Oh... hello!
Shangri is a very curious young cat who's now determined to check out every nook and cranny of the house... including the dishwasher...
What IS this thing?
He's still rather nervous when there's sudden movement, but loud noises do not bother him the way they did in the beginning... although we actually live in a pretty quiet house.
Smells like there should be food here... but I don't like my feet getting wet...
Nala doesn't do nearly as much exploring... but every now and then something catches her attention... like the low space under the cart behind one of the water dishes.
If there's a dark corner to hide away in, she'll find it!
Nala, exploring...
We think Shangri is going to become a quite large cat... he's already almost as long as Curator Cat... at just five months.
Here, he's doing his best "Longcat" imitation! Anyone remember Longcat, one of the Web's earliest cat memes?
Shangri, being Longcat!
Of course, like all good kittens he seldom stays stationary for more than a few minutes at a time... so up the cat tree we go, to explore the top platform!
This hole is fascinating!
Curator Cat retires to the Dad-Hooman's office when he's had enough of the youngsters, and they generally respect his space pretty well... one of the distinct benefits of having a pair of cats who arrive, already feeling bonded to each other.
Enjoying a moment of peace and sunshine without kittens...
Well, just wanted to bring you a mid-week update... thanks for visiting our little cat blog, and we hope to see you again soon, for more cat and kitten antics!
Enjoy the rest of your week!

Love Cats? Get Involved in Hive's Cat Communities!
If you're a cat lover and often/sometimes post pictures or other content that includes your feline friends, why not become an active part of Hive's growing Cat Communities?
These are some of the more active Cat Communities — why not join them ALL? Many of the allow you to share your cat posts, even if you started at a different community!
HiveCats by @curatorcat is a central "gathering place" for cat content on Hive; promoting the use of the #hivecats tag for feline content!
Cat Snaps by @manorvillemike is a place to post pictures of your cats when you don't have a whole lot to say beyond just sharing your cute photos!
Caturday by @saboin is a community where we get to celebrate posts relating to Saturday — aka "Caturday" — our own special day!
Cat Photos by @andrarchy is a "mixed use" cat content community; posts can be just photos or longer, as long as the subject is CATS!
Cats by @captainklaus (and Sissi!) is another "general" cat content community.
There are a number of other feline communities listed on Hive, but I am not sharing them for now as they have not had any activity (by their Admins OR users) since the Steem/Hive fork. Updates as they become available!
