Delicious hot chocolate with a Samba flavor [Eng/Esp]

Today I made a special chocolate drink, although for me, chocolate is always special. I added some extra Strawberry Samba flavor...

Hoy preparé un chocolate especial, aunque para mí el chocolate siempre lo es. Le agregué un extra de sabor a Samba de Fresa...

The Samba is a chocolate cookie made with layers of waffle, cream, and 100% Venezuelan cacao. It's quite dense and incredibly delicious; almost everyone loves it.

For this occasion, I chose the strawberry-flavored Samba, the most popular and easiest to find. The idea came to me yesterday, and with the chilly weather we woke up to here, I didn't hesitate to go out early to buy the Samba and prepare my delicious hot chocolate to warm up my morning.

La Samba es una galleta chocolatoza, elaborada por capas de waffle, crema y cacao 100% venezolano. Es bastante compacta y sumamente deliciosa, a casi todos nos encanta.

Para esta ocasión elegí la Samba sabor a fresa, la más popular y la que se consigue con mayor facilidad. Desde ayer vino esa idea a mi mente y con el clima frío con que amanecimos por aquí, no dude en salir temprano a comprar la Samba y preparar mi delicioso chocolate caliente para entibiar mi mañana.



Ingredients for 1 cup:

  • 1 Samba strawberry flavor.
  • 1 cup of milk.
  • 1 teaspoon of cornstarch.
  • 1 tablespoon of cocoa powder.
  • 1 teaspoon of sugar.

Ingredientes para 1 taza:

  • 1 Samba sabor a fresa.
  • 1 taza de leche líquida.
  • 1 cucharadita de maicena, o almidón de maíz.
  • 1 cucharada de cacao en polvo.
  • 1 cucharadita de azúcar.

Preparation // Preparación:

I put the Samba in the fridge for half an hour so it would firm up a bit and be easier to slice.

Then I grated a small piece using the fine side of a grater to add to the chocolate when it was ready. Just a little, a tablespoon or two.

I cut the rest of the Samba into small pieces so it would be easier to blend.

Guardé a Samba en la nevera media hora para que agarrara un poco de dureza y fuese más fácil cortarla.

Luego rallé un pedacito por la parte fina del rallador para agregarle al chocolate por encima cuando estuviese listo. Solo un poco, una o dos cucharadas.

Corté el resto de la Samba en trozos pequeños para que fuese más fácil licuarla.

I blended the Samba pieces with half a cup of milk.

Licué los trozos de Samba con media taza de leche.

I dissolved the cornstarch in the other half cup of milk and heated it over medium heat, stirring until it thickened. I added the Samba smoothie, the tablespoon of cocoa powder, and the teaspoon of sugar, stirring everything until I obtained a mixture homogeneous and slightly thickened . I removed it from the heat, and it was ready to serve.

Disolví la maicena en la otra media taza de leche y lleve a fuego medio, revolviendo hasta que espesó. Agregué el licuado con Samba, la cucharada de cacao en polvo y la cucharadita de azúcar, removiendo todo hasta que obtuve una mezcla homogénea y un poquito espesa. Retiré del fuego y así estuvo lista para servir.

A little more flavor wouldn't hurt, plus a more attractive touch with the grated Samba sprinkled on top.

Un poco más de sabor creo que no está demás, además de un toque más atractivo con la lluvia de Samba rallada por encima.
