Did you know that almost all JK milk coffee is black espresso coffee? Yup, black coffee served in small cups with a strong and thick taste. But, how much do we know about black espresso coffee? Find out the explanation here, come on!

What is Espresso?

Espresso is coffee produced by brewing coffee at high pressure and temperature. Espresso coffee is made by grinding the coffee until fine, then compressing it or what is usually called "tamping", then the coffee is brewed under high pressure at a high temperature, resulting in a thick coffee extract. Its thick taste and thick texture make it the basis for making various coffee menus, such as cappuccino, americano and also caffé latte.

Espresso Journey

In Italian, espresso means “pressed coffee”. Black espresso coffee was first discovered by Luigi Bezzera. Initially, coffee was made by brewing hot water, but Bezzera found a faster way to get a small cup of black coffee with a strong taste, namely with steam pressure.

After espresso became more well known, Achille Gaggia, a former Milanese barista, invented a machine that could produce more pressure in 15 seconds.

According to the story, Gaggia was inspired by the American army jeep which uses a hydraulic system, making it faster and stronger. Thanks to these various discoveries and innovations, now we can get a delicious cup of espresso in a short time.
