There’s a special kind of joy in getting back to something you’ve missed after weeks of not being able to do it. For me, that’s walking. After being sick for what felt like an eternity, the past two days have been a turning point. Today, I managed an 8.5km walk—the first in weeks!
Late November isn’t the kindest time for outdoor adventures. The days are short, the air is crisp, and the weather often feels like it’s conspiring against you with rain, wind, and an eternal grayness. But today, the sun made a brief and glorious appearance, and I wasn’t about to let that go to waste.
I threw on my boots and headed out to this quiet canal path. The landscape looked like a moody masterpiece—dramatic clouds, soft light, and reflections that made the water look like a painting. The wind? Still chilly. But my heart? Warm.
It’s not just about the distance or the exercise—it’s about feeling alive and capable again. Small wins like these remind me that recovery is a journey, and every step is worth it. Waiting for brighter days, longer walks, and soaking up every bit of light we can find.
