Vinland episode 15 : After Yule
The story of this anime is getting so deep. This episode we know that the prince younger brother Canute is weak, love to cook and coward basically due to how the royal family is being run but he has the kindest heart out of the family members.
In the end of this episode his bodyguard Ragnar was killed by their own protector because Askaladd believes Ragnar baby sit the prince too much till he can't fight for himself like the prince brother Herald. Herald was said to be a mighty warrior and a favourite of the King but we don't know for sure.
The story was told by Ragnar Canute's Bodyguard maybe it's true or false we won't know until they reach their destination to claim his throne. Before Ragnar dies he told Askaladd that the king will kill one of his sons because the country has two factions half support Canute the other half support Herald so In order to settle the problem the king will kill one of them we don't know which one for sure until we see some proof.
But it does make sense If a country is split into two then there will be civil war and civil war will destroy the royalty position to conquer. It's absolutely messy imagine you're king and you need to sacrifice one of your son's in order to save thousands of innocent lives but of course this innocent people is the last thing on the king's mind because the whole point is how long can you be in power right? This is my point of view of course but let's see what happens gonna watch more and see if I can finish it asap hehe.
