The beaches and coastal walks are a lovely part of any holiday, but here in the Canary Islands, that is no exception. So today, after taking a bus trip from our hotel, we walked the estimated 4km back slowly over the afternoon, stopping for refreshments along the way! 😁
Temperatures during the walk were higher than average for February at 23°C max. The wind was strong at times, though, and almost blew off my hat!
We were surprised to see a pair of camels on the beach. Apparently, someone was selling rides as the camels had saddles with seats on their backs.
It felt hot at one point before the wind started to really cool it down. As we walked on, towards the harbour, there was another surprise! Little squirrels appeared looking for food, coming up very close to us, showing little fear.
We stopped at a harbour bar for refreshments. The view was amazing, and a large catamaran sailed into the dock as we sat there.
I think we were very lucky with the conditions today and chose to do this walk on a lovely day. Maybe the wind could have been lighter (the barstaff were having trouble with glasses falling off the bar, blown by the wind!), but it was well worth the effort. 😉
