I finished this story faster than I expected! I planned to break it down in 3 parts but I finished it in 2 sittings. It's not that long so it was easier to tackle and very interesting. At the start I couldn't figure out if I am creeped out by Grenouille or just fascinated by him and I definitely think it's the latter. This book is probably the creepiest book I have ever read so far but it's so damn interesting. I really love the way the world in this book works. I love how everyone responds to the protagonist differently based on the way he smells. I love how he figured out how to make the perfect perfume and the realization of what the cost of the power is. The ending was truly gruesome, I didn't believe it but it somehow made deep sense for Grenouille's character. That he decides to die that way. It was a perfect death in a way for him. Dying covered in something he could never truly possess.
