I went a little against the orders of my holistic doctor yesterday. He advised me to run in the morning, on an empty stomach and after just drinking my new pre-workout. That’s what I apply to my Friday runs, but since I feel a bit stronger and I can now run for a bit longer before stopping to catch my breath, I felt encouraged to add an extra evening run.
Just a short one and in truth I really needed some endorphins yesterday. Anxiety seems to creep up as soon as there is the smallest disturbance present and I had quite a few of those since last week. Physical activity is yet the best way I found to keep it at manageable level.
Walks are great too, I’m sure it would be worse if not for my daily walks at work, but my brain can still be fairly active while I walk. Different with dancing and running - these two I see more as a moving meditation and both very effective in rising my mood.
When I run, I am very in tune with my body. I pay attention to my form and I must say I can run much easier since my last holistic massage with Arty. Hip ache is gone and I feel more straight. I also took his advice about breathing to heart and apply the same technique when I walk in between the runs, rather than huffing and puffing to catch a breath 😂
I was very pleased to be able to run for 10 minutes without the need to stop and even when I stopped it was not to catch the breath, but rather to ease the pain in calves and shins. I’d rather prevent the injuries rather than let them stop me from my new found running regime.
Make no mistakes - my speed is that of a turtle 🐢 but I’m still proud of how far I’ve come in a very short time. Professional guidance really can not be underestimated in some matters.
Until next walk 💙
