Many times if not always, we fail to listen to our bodies until it is (almost) too late.....
This is really true for me because I believe part of the reason the accident happened was I have ignored the anaemic symptoms for too long.
So throughout the week, other than one of my lovely choir members who boiled an entire pot of red dates and monkfruit concoction, I had my dates water on standby as well.
The Chinese community have always trusted the Chinese red dates for its certain nutrients crucial for blood loss replenishment especially for women, after a cycle has finished, or after giving birth.
Having ancestors with weak red blood cells (low haemoglobin) and low blood count is no joke.
Often times I have tried to stay on the healthier cleaner food source like fresh fruits blend; however when the wallet is skinny, the choice of food hasn't been the best either.
And no... pushing harder with exercise doesn't help the body to rebuild properly without nutrition
That being said, having a week's worth of red dates concoction did bring some "blush" to my vampire-like pale face (that my team has noticed), which is great news!
The energy came back, and with the help of the Lord, I could push further during ministry time.

Not to mention keeping 13 kids hooked with practices overcoming short attention spans with all the fun activities, starting with warm-ups
(Thanks to pastor Angeline who took this candid video 🤣🤣🤣 you can see some are slowly waking up after a heavy lunch, while there are also some restless ones that needed to drain the excess energy🤪)
Nevertheless, after being awake from 4:45am till 5pm, I still crashed for 3 hours just to let my muscles have their well deserved rest.
A balance is truly needed
And I will need to learn to exercise and plan my time well
Especially for the next 3 - 6 months
How about you?
Do you have any traditional secret remedy that helps to keep your physical energy up during crucial times?
