With a second very sunny day in a row, yesterday's plan was of course to get as much outdoor time as possible. As often, we started our activities near the small forest behind the front yard.
Kaia was exploring when something caught her attention.
You guessed it, Le Chat graced us with her presence. She's not sleeping on that top right photo, just eating some of the grass.
That's pretty cool to have this forest next to the house, but it's even better to have the bigger forest less than a mile away. And of course, that's where we went next.
Kaia had plenty of fun splashing around in the big puddles.
She was right because it was hot! Low 80s, or around 27C! Early April in Michigan?... Yeah I know, for many parts of the world, this might not even be considered like hot, but here in early Spring, it is! So anyways, after walking the drier trails, Kaia started to feel the heat, all tongue out, trying to catch as much air as possible.
But we completed our usual Cubiverse vaults detour.
And finished another loop in the forest before heading back home.
I'm not sure, maybe it's not that unusual. But along the street, in the corner of my eye, I caught a glimpse of yellow. These flowers grew all by themselves, right in the middle of these trees.
After our walk, I thought I would repeat last week's plan, with a run and a second walk. But I got a bit lazy and also ran out of time, so no run, just a second walk to catch the sunset.
We were a bit early, so we could check new angles.
And of course, some very familiar ones.
I said it many times, but I really can't get enough sunsets!
With the heavy rain during the week, we even caught a few sunset reflections.
It was almost time to call it a day for us, but wildlife was still active. No idea what they were discussing but I found it very cute!
Last colors of the day just before getting back home.
But what is that in our front yard? Kaia wasn't too happy about that. In our own yard?
But they just hung out there, barely acknowledging us. We could get super close, until Kaia couldn't take it anymore: she barked and lunged at them, they finally fled and we could get home.
In spite of skipping the run, this was quite the active day to finish the week end. Much less fun after that, I had to work on my taxes. Yes I always wait for the last minute, and usually it's quite straight forward, a couple hours at most. But this time, it was a complete mess, I spent most of the night on it, and still had plenty to do on Monday to complete and file them. Maybe next year, I'll start a couple days before the deadline...
As always, thanks for stopping by and see you tomorrow.
