We have had a bit of rain recently, so I tried for a few mirror photos on some of the single track trails that had puddles of water on them. The puddles had me weaving side to side to try and find the driest spot on my morning run. I don't mind the idea of getting wet and dirty, but I don't want to slip over and get injured.
I used to think the red tinge of the water in the creek was pollution from the neighbourhood houses, but I think it is due to the large amount of red oche rock in this area. The red other rock is soft and easily ground up into a red paste. My son and his mates used to make red paint when they were young.
There were also quite a few wallabies out as the rain seemed to keep most of the other humans indoors other than me.
