I am over ten thousand steps yesterday once again! Actually, over eleven thousand steps. That was achieved with a shopping trip and a workout with our son yesterday.
Today, my wife flew out on a business trip, and we are hanging out with our daughter all day. The day started with us cleaning all three of our aquariums using Python gravel vacuum inside and then cleaning the outside of the aquariums with Windex and paper towels.
As my daughter says: "Windex Fixes Everything" which is a quote from one of the movies we really enjoyed: My big fat Greek wedding.
Changing filters and clean up it actually took us about two hours to do. Who said hobby is easy 😀
After that, the two of us had a meal together. She had shitaki mushrooms and pasta that my wife prepared yesterday, and I had a great soup that was also her creation.
Nice to have a great home cooked food even when she is away.
After we were done with that we went to a mall. Our daughter put together and wrote down a plan for a couple of days that mom is away for us.
At eleven years old, she is very organized. Having a written plan is actually really helpful, though we deviate from it a little bit. For example, the plan called for a Starbucks visit at the mall, but she decided to have a couple Ukrainian Roshen candies at home instead and said that because of that she would skip the late at Starbucks.
We looked at alpacas at the mall and walked around for a bit, then came home. At home, we played around for a bit until she finally got hungry, and we ordered Domino's pizza.
On the way home from Domino's, she recorded fun videos on her phone while I was driving and providing a music track for her short videos. Maybe she will start her own YouTube channel like her older brother since she has a really good eye for it and an artistic vision.
We ate pizza at home, and she had tried pineapple fanta and orange fanta for the first time with her pepperoni pineapple pizza.
We are not big soda drinkers, and she used to reject all fizzy drinks, but has started to accept some this year, though Pepsi and Coca-Cola are still not her thing.
After that, we did some more video filming of her playing with soft toys and then played some more together.
She talked to Grandma, and we talked to mom she re-arranged our living room, and we watched an old family movie, "The Flintstones," I really enjoyed the movie, but her verdict was "Boring" I guess the movie is a bit old and kids these days are used to more entertaining movies...
We had another small meal which was some Naan bread and a fresh mango. Wished mom a good night and she read a book.
It was a great day off. I do feel a bit tired from all the activity 😀
Feels strange not to have my wife around, the last couple years since she retired from her corporate career we have been together every single day.
