A dead bird on the pavement

While wandering about to do my Actifit steps the other day I saw something that broke my heart.

I was shocked, speechless, and my mind went blank before this hideous spectacle.
Who could have killed that innocent bird?
I saw it lying lifeless on the pavement, with a little bright red blood on its side.
Why did they do that?
What did they try to prove or achieve?
And perhaps most importantly, what did the poor bird do to deserve such an unfair death?
Such an irrational and unmanly act makes me feel ashamed of being a human.
I can only say: RIP, little fellow. You harmed nobody in your short life, so there must be a place for you on the right side of God.
