Slow Living and Fun-filled Sunday

Hi guys, Happy New Week! I hope we are enjoying your day. It was a slow living Sunday three days ago and I have decided to share how it went. It was actually a spectacular Sunday, being the last Sunday in the first half of the year, and my birthday, 29th of June. So, it's safe to call it all in one Sunday.

I thought so hard on how to celebrate the special day. At first, I thought I would invite some people to my house and throw a vig party , since it's also a thanksgiving Sunday. So that I can make delicacies for everyone. Then we sing and dance.

However, I decided to have a rethink, I didn't have to throw an elaborate party, spending so much on drinks, food and decoration. It's already Thanksgiving Sunday in church, where the church has made enough provision for food and drinks. In fact, some guest artists have been invited for special songs ministrations. The day was already promising. So, as a minimalist that I am, I saw no need to organize and spend so much at home after the church celebration.

Besides, most of my friends that would grace the occasion attend the same church as me, and would definitely have eaten, danced and probably felt exhausted, before heading to my house again. So, there's no need to waste money. I decided to inform my pastor, he was so happy and told me the church would incorporate my birthday into the thanksgiving service. I was so happy. So, I invited my few neighbours to church to celebrate with.

During the announcement, they told the congregation that it was my birthday. People screamed and celebrated with me. The choir stood up gracefully and sang birthday songs for me. The church prayed for me. I was so happy and felt on top of the world. Afterwards, we had Thanksgiving where we sang, danced and danced. The service ended with item 7, Menu! Menu!! We were all given rice and chicken with drinks. In fact, our plates of rice were full to the brim.

In fact, it was a slow living and well spent Sunday. I'm glad that I didn't compromise my minimalist lifestyle. No wastage of resources, no debt was incurred in the name of celebration. I still had more than enough to eat with my friends. I was sung for, by multitudes. I sang, danced and rejoiced. The church prayed fervently for me. We all ate and drank. I was happy my birthday fell on Sunday, not an ordinary Sunday but the last one in the first half of the year. It was indeed a thanksgiving Sunday. Mega celebration with no pressure or unnecessary budget. It's really the definition of a fun and slow living Sunday.
