Well, friends, today I have returned to bring you a new story. Today I have dedicated it to the letter E58 Hamish. As you can see, to create the story I was very inspired by the art of the letter, in fact if you look at the letter you will see how the story makes sense. Friends, I tell you that Hamish is a man who was born in Scotland. In a very traditional city. Since always or since he can remember he has heard the sound of the Bagpipes, which is the most well-known instrument in this country. His whole family was dedicated to playing the bagpipes so it seems as if he inherited the knowledge and he also dedicated himself to this. But he went further. Once he mastered the bagpipes he did not continue playing them in bands, he wanted something different. His love for the instrument was so great that he decided to become a Bagpipe teacher to teach others to play them. He felt more complete doing so than playing in concerts. But that was not all, if you think that was all he did you will fall back when you find out the rest.

He was not satisfied with teaching others. He also held several positions in the local government culture to promote the use of the bagpipes. As you can see he is very passionate about this subject. Practically his whole life revolves around this. Teaching others to learn to play and preserving the culture of playing it in the country.

He often tours Scotland to give talks about the bagpipes and teach children how to play them. He also teaches older people how to play them. His goal is to make them known to as many people as he can. His family was very proud of him because he really followed in their footsteps, but with 10x more energy. In fact, the government has already given him several awards for his efforts. But as always, this is not enough for him. So, like a missionary from a church, he goes to cities where it is known that the bagpipes are not played much to try to promote them in some way. If you don't want to, he forces you, 😅, not quite like that, but he urges you to learn to play it.

Well, it turns out that he recently visited a village. But don't be fooled by the word village, it's a fairly developed town. He came to visit because he found out through his contacts that people in this place no longer play the bagpipes. And that's not acceptable to him; he wants everyone to learn and love it. That's why he soon began to investigate how to get people to start playing it again. First he began asking everyone why they no longer liked to play it, many answered that why would they do it if nobody wanted to listen to it.

This caught his attention because most of them told him that if they liked what was happening it was because they didn't want to do it because they said that the others weren't interested. That's where he realized that the problem was that there was a vicious circle among the people. Nobody played for anyone because they thought the others wouldn't like it.

But the reality is that everyone liked it, it's just that the tradition had been lost. Well, here Hamish had a challenge. He had to make everyone like playing again and restore the tradition. Of course this wouldn't be easy but he had to try. He had been successful in all his other missions so far so he had hopes that this one would be the same.

But not everything was as easy as he thought from the beginning. People had not played for a long time and it took him a long time to convince them that this was the best way to preserve the country's culture and tradition everywhere, even in the villages. To convince them, he had to hold several meetings in the main square of the city. After that, he organized an event where he hired several musicians and dancers to give a grand demonstration of how the gaita should be played.

The festival lasted 3 days. During those 3 days people came from various parts of the country and many famous singers who knew how to master the bagpipes played. The people were so excited to see what they had lost due to their prejudices that they told Hamish that they would commit themselves to rescuing the local culture. Now it was time to wait for them to do it. On his side, he had already planted the seed now it was time to let it grow, the festival was a success. But Hamish's mission is not over yet, now there are many towns left to evangelize.😅
