Today I was all set to make PASTA . Watched recipes on youtube, seemed very easy, with my excitement at its peak, there was no chance it won't be perfect.
Its not like I was making it for the first time. But earlier they were 'JUST BOIL IT' pastas in which no preparation is required.
But this time it was different. I bought the ingredients from the market.

The Blunder
Vegetables were chopped, spices ready, everything was in place.
I added salt and oil in a water filled container, then added pasta. Allowed it to boil for 10 minutes...
The biggest mistake was that I poured 2 tbsp oil. I knew its a big mistake but let it boil. The result was that now spices and sauces couldn't stick properly as the pieces had a layer of oil around them. Hence, adhesion hindered.
I drained out the starch water which could have helped the sauces stick.
As this occupied my mind, I forgot to fry onion and garlic. I did add raw onion at last..but still not happy with the results.
Now the pasta and masala weren't behaving like a team. They had their own separate taste.
The most important part in cooking is the teamwork of ingredients which was missing here :(
Though I thought I added enough sauce but still insufficient. I also felt that it should have been more soft..but atleast that was bearable.
The Feedback
My brother said it is fine. He never shy away when it comes to giving reviews. Especially when it comes to me.
He gave me 6/10.
To me it tasted horrible. Would have never given it more than 2/10
My mother liked it too, I don't know how. Maybe cuz she has never the perfect pasta, she rarely eats this outside.

The thing I've noticed is when it comes to cooking anything, my first time is always a screw up.
The first time I made chocolate cake, I had to throw it way. It was burnt and kitchen full of acrid smell.
But the 2nd time it turned out to be the most delicious cake.
Nothing went well with the pasta today..Maybe next time it would be better.
