When one writes for passion, there is a high possibility of not being disappointed if the votes aren't coming. To a large extent, the blockchain works with how much effort you put into interacting and making friends with other authors. I have seen a community where the curator shows more preference for the relationship with the writer than the quality of the post. It is good if one's primary aim of writing is passion. When such is intensified, upvotes can come at any time.
