Have you been involved in situations where you are busy at the cafe or at work, or maybe you are walking dow the road, only for you to notice a rumbling in your stomach and it looks like you have to let something out of your system else you might lose your mind. At this time, everything isn't the same again and it becomes a race against time because you have to use the toilet?

Yesterday, I was coming from the hospital and I was tired because I had a long day from work. I wanted to just go home and sleep but then at about 200 meters to my house I felt a Rumbling in my stomach and behold, that poop is here. I ran a 200 meter Sprint so as to get to my flat. I didn't know how I opened the door or how I left it after going in, all I was chasing was how to get to the toilet. Why this is not uncommon with people, why do we experience it? Is it something we eat, hidden health conditions, or possibly stress?

Everything in our daily lives add to how we metabolize and find ourselves in the restroom, from what we eat, what we drink, the stress we encounter, and so on add to our visit to the restroom but then let's look at what could lead to this urgent race to the toilet.

The first reason for urgent race to the toilet is food poisoning. If you eat something that isn't clean or is infested by microorganisms, then you are going to suffer from food poisoning, and the fastest way to get this out of the body is a visit to the toilet. According to the CDC, one in six americans get sick from contaminated food or beverages yearly and this is higher in developing and underdeveloped world, and stomach upset is an onset of food poisoning.

Using food ingredients that aren't completely clean can leave you with food bacteria like Salmonela or E.coli visiting your stomach and this will send you to the toilet very fast because its onset come with symptoms like Stomach Cramps, Diarrhea, and Vomiting, before it send you to the hospital in the severe cases although most cases are shortlived as resting and staying hydrated while avoiding contaminated food is enough to help with recovery. Proper food handling, storage, and cooking properly can help prevent food poisoning.

People at work experiencing stress aren't only stressing their brian but also thir guts and this is common with people with Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) which affects the large intestine and it is associated with symptoms like cramping, abdominal pain, bloating, gasing, and urgent bowel movements. High pressure job can lead to constant stress which doen't only affect the mind but also the gut and it is a trigger for IBS flare-ups. Another thing that can send a person to the toilet is lactose intolerace where people who are intolleratable to lactose consume food items that have lactose.

With lactose intolerance, the body is unable to digest lactose which is a type of sugar found in milk and dairy product and approximately 68% of the world have lactose intoleance, so if you are one of this 68% of people then your body lacks the enzyme lactase to digest lactose which causes it to go down the digestive system leading to cramps and distress and if you see you are going to the toilet more frequently with cramps check if you had just taken any product with lactose.

If you are a person that like coffee because you need it everyday to handle your daily activity, then there is a possibility that you are going to be visiting the toilet more often. Taking strong black coffee before eating breakfast can be a culprit to using th toilet more often as it can trigger the colon muscle contraction which is similar to how the body reacts after eating a meal. In case you haven't heard, Caffeine can act as a laxative leading to frequent use of the toilet, so it is better to take your coffee after a good meal as well as eat food containing fibers.

If you are familiar with eating pepper, then you will be familiar with the toilet thanks to Capsaicin found in Chilli pepper. Capsaicin irritates the lining of the stomach and intestines which lead to increased bowel movements. Still on ingestion of food, people who ingest glutten and suffer from Celiac Disease can experience damage to their intestine. For some people, eating something as little as a pasta meal can trigger a reaction because the immune system begin to attack the vili in the small intestine. This leads to symptoms like Diarrhea, fatigue, and emergency bowel movement. Celiac disease is a severe health condition and should be treated as such where glutten free food should be eaten.

Certain medications in excess such as antibiotics can lead to resistance and can also distrupt the balance of gut microbiome leading to digestive upsets known as antibiotics associated diarrhea. Our daily habits, diet, and even stress levels significantly influence our visits to the restroom. Understanding these factors and making informed choices can contribute to a more comfortable and predictable digestive experience.
