Little Ember is pregnant 🐶🐶🐶🐾

in Hive Petslast month

There is this particular bond that exists between we humans and our pets especially dogs often described as one of companionship, loyalty and mutual affection. This kind of relationship is usually one that last and lasts!! However, there are moments in time where this bind even deepens further. Particularly during significant events in life. One of such in my life is when I noticed that my little baby girl was showing signs of conceptions. A revelation marking the beginning of an experience filled with both responsibilities and great anticipation.

It wasn’t much of an unexpected event because I have seen her with the males several times together doing what they do best. So, observing its subtility all these while. But the signs where became so clear when I noticed a complete change in behavior and size. I didn’t even have to consult a veterinary for any confirmations. Although that would have been the case if there were no physical changes like increase in size especially around the belly.

This moment carries with it all sort of mixture of emotions. A welcoming of new cuties into the family and on the other hand, the responsibilities that comes with it, you know exactly what I mean right? Lol. Well, this will definitely come with extra cost. Visiting the veterinary for vaccinations, and proving well nutritious meal like fresh milk and meat. That’s not even nothing much though but the extra time to spend on them. That I can and will have no problem with especially when the baby turns out to be super cute.🐶🐶🐶🐶

But even before coming to that, the mother herself needs more attention than ever. It requires more than casual care. At some points, I have to help her stand on her feet, when she finds it difficult to do. Even carry her to a particular point sometimes. The changes in her are so obvious, both behavioral and physical.

Her energy level has drop drastically, making her extremely calm than ever. Keeps sleeping longer and looks more reserved and sought out quiet places in the house. Sometimes even hide under our car, just sleeping in the sand, and very usual places. Sometimes I have to lure her out with food. Which of course she doesn’t even eat. She has lost appetite; she hardly eats her favorite food: Palm soup with Chicken and sardines mixed with our local diet called gari. Her appetite has really shift.

But she is extra careful with her movements now. Has really lost her aggressiveness and doesn’t bark at all. For me, these changes were profound. They reminded me that pregnancy is not only a biological process but also an emotional and behavioral transformation, even in animals.
Recognizing these changes means adapting to a new approach of care towards her. Veterinarian will definitely have to come in as soon as possible. Arrangement will be made to ensure the safety of not only her but her unborn babies as well. If there is a need too vaccination be made. Will have to try other meals to increase her nutritional intake aside the vitamin intakes. Making arrangement in advance for where she might deliver. Can’t best tell when these young ones are arriving so it’s best to plan ahead.
I spend time with her sometimes, either rubbing her on the belly or head. I try to play with her just to keep her cheered up to provide for her emotional needs. I can’t best tell how this might be of help but that’s the little I can do for now. Every little help might count to her overall wellbeing in her current situation.

my dog’s pregnancy has been a redefining moment that reshaped the way I view pet ownership. It is no longer just about providing food and shelter, it’ s about recognizing and responding to the deeper needs of an animal during a critical stage in its life.
The changes I observed in her both physical and behavioral were reminders of the natural process of motherhood. The care I have provided since then has been guided by a sense of responsibility, love, and respect for her role as a mother-to-be.

The continuing of this journey with her will be with much commitment to supporting her through every stage. From pregnancy to the arrival of her cute puppies. This experience has taught me that caring for a pregnant dog is not simply about managing a situation it is about embracing the privilege of nurturing life and honoring the bond we share. I can’t wait to see her deliver, and will share those updates with you as well. Any advice to help her in this crucial time will be welcomed. And all good wishes are warmly welcomed too.❤️❤️

Thanks.🐶🐶🐶🐾🐾

Ohhh, that pretty baby will have her own baby soon. I just hope she's have a safe delivery once the time come. And what's that she's eating by the way? I'm super curious.

I hope so too. Thanks for the concern. That is a food recommended by the Veterinarian as a substitute since she finds it difficult to chew the chips/dog food. Its "Gari", our local food made from cassava mixed with Palm nut soup and Chicken and Sardines. I think I made mention of it in the post..
