What a psychedelic and exciting story. I could imagine how the girl fell prey to the rare spices, I sense that they could have had some narcotic effect on the young woman's mind. In the same way they were some spaghetti from the other world, haha.

Heh. Thank you, @rinconpoetico7! You're right. The more likely explanation is that the spices contain some kind of mind-altering substance. Another possibility that I hint at the beginning of the story is nanotechnology run amok. Of course, there is also the possibility that the urban legend of the Flying Spaghetti Monster is real. 😆
