Hello Hive users!

It was a fun weekend for me. Yesterday, I met a friend and we went to SM Calamba. We had ice cream at Caramia. My friend ordered pistachio, and I chose blueberry cheesecake.

We didn’t plan to watch a movie, but while looking for food we saw the showtimes displayed on a monitor. The price was right—only $4.50—so we decided to watch one. The title of the movie was A Special Memory.

It was a sad movie because the woman developed early-onset Alzheimer’s disease. The man was willing to stay with her and protect her. He wanted to be by her side no matter what the future would bring. But the woman was afraid that someday she might hurt him and no longer remember him.
The mind may forget, but the heart remembers the memories you created with someone special.
After watching the movie, I found myself reflecting. If this happened to me, would I be willing to stay, or would I walk away? How could I express my love for that person if life became very difficult?
Not all of us can handle that kind of pressure. How long can we endure such circumstances? It is really hard to forget someone who truly loves you. It is painful to witness.
When married couples exchange vows, they promise: “to have and to hold from this day forward, for better or for worse, for richer or for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, till death do us part.”
Sadly, some fail to keep this vow and end up separating or divorcing. Not all of us have the same mindset or emotional strength. Do we have the endurance to keep moving forward when problems start piling up?
Some couples face financial struggles, lack of communication, addictions, cheating partners, parents’ disapproval, and illness. Sometimes I am truly amazed by couples who reach 50 years together. Just imagine the endurance, patience, trust, and love they invested to make their relationship work.
Love is about give and take. You may not feel love every second of every day, but you choose to stay with that person for the rest of your life. Because of love, it becomes possible to stay united and build a strong foundation that keeps you moving forward together.
Never ignore the feelings of your wife or partner. Be the best person you can be. Always make your partner feel that their emotions are validated and acknowledged. Swallow your pride. Talk about problems before going to sleep. Don’t yell. Don’t manipulate. Be a partner who forgives and forgets.
Never be shaken when life gets tough. If you lose a battle, at least you fought with all your strength. And when defeat comes, accept it with grace.
