I've had a good day is my daughters 28th birthday, I bought her a set of Coraline pyjamas, she loves the Coraline movie, she also got some pennies to spend and we took her and her boyfriend out for a lovely meal. She's only 28 once so why not celebrate it. She went out with her boyfriend in the morning to do some birthday shopping whilst I had a lie in with my pups before having to get showered and dressed. We usually go out food shopping on a Saturday but cancelled it with going out for a meal, we later decided we will have to go out after the meal around 8pm
as our cupboards were bare. Gran decided she needed things as well.
I got out of bed in plenty of time to shower, wash and blow dry my hair, get dressed and even put a little slap on, I don't wear much make up as it now makes my skin feel horrible so a little mascara and lippy worked. I always feel great after a shower and blow dry my hair but can't always do it.
We usually have the meal. Booked for around 8pm but we had a few problems with family and times so ended up booking for 5pm, we were very lucky to get in to the restaurant as they were really busy. Once we were ready me and hubby had to go pick hubbys mum up, she's a big fan of my daughter. My daughter and her boyfriend were meeting us there.
I had plans to take photos of what I ate but forgot on the starter, remembered for the main then forgot on the pudding. I had starved myself all day, I don't get out as much now so wanted to enjoy it as much as possible.
For starters I had fish cakes with a chilli chutney, Hubby got the chutney to go with his prawns as I can't eat hot spicy food. This fish cakes were nice, they were made with Haddock & Salmon. I then had a Vegetarian Rissotto with a few home made chips. I always have this when I'm at this restaurant as it's really nice.
Then for pudding I had Gooseberry & Apple treacle tart with custard. This was amazing, I would certainly try it again. I had to take a photo from the menu online.
We ask had a fab time, was lovely having a meal out together as it doesn't happen as much now she's older and has a boyfriend. My daughter and her boyfriend left as they needed to pick a few things up from my house before going to her boyfriends flat then me, hubby and gran went off shopping. The plan was to pick a few days food up but by the time we reached the checkout the trolley was full.
We didn't get home until 9ish, but the time we put the food away, took the dogs out, fed the dogs, turtles and fish then played a little bingo it was nearly midnight, The night had flown by. Now I'm off to bed.
