Its been a really busy day today plus only having 2 hours sleep last night due to Mika my poorly pup the day was even harder but I made sure I pushed myself with thinking bedtime will be here soon enough and thankfully I am now lying in bed, had all my meds now time to relax and hopefully we have a better night tonight.
I have the most amazing mother in law, we have always got along from me and hubbys early days. Today was her 82nd birthday, she spurs me on everyday as she never let's anything stop her from getting out and enjoying her day. We made sure today was all about her doing everything she wanted to plus eating her evening meal in her favourite restaurant. Our day started when we picked her up at 11am, we had to come back to our own house to pick up my daughter as she had to help a friend out first. We then went onto a lovely restaurant where we had a small lunch and coffee, just enough to see us through until tea time plus knew we would be shopping in her favourite shop and how she shops, I don't know how she does it.
Its really weird as all the mothers birthday are in the same month, the person that have birth to me (will call her J) on the 14th, hubbys stepmum on the 17th then my M.I.L then her mum at the end of October. This is the very first year that I didn't realise it was J's birthday, the 14th came and went without me acknowledging it, we hadn't spoke for nearly 25 years, she's died around 8 years ago, I haven't missed her once.
After our lunch we then went onto Boundary Mills, this is a shop all on one floor selling Kitchen Accessories, Bathroom Accessories, Bedroom Linen and towels plus lamps, mirrors, handbags, perfume then moving onto men's & women's clothes then men's & women's shoes with a candle corner, books and treats plus a large Cafe & toilets. We spent a good 3 hours wandering around there, thankfully they have a few seats where I can sit and rest whilst she does more shopping. I was after a couple of things but sadly they didn't have what I wanted.
Time to leave to head home and wait until it was time to head off for our booking. We booked our seats at Mambos for 6pm, this is a large Italian restaurant with the most amazing staff and menu.
Its a beautiful restaurant that even on a Monday night was pretty busy. There was other birthday parties going on.
I was really looking forward to my mushroom risotto, its my favourite meal there but being the dizzy one I ordered Linguine, I didn't realise until she brought me the plate, it wasn't there fault so wasn't going to say anything just eat it up as I hate waste, this dish is OK just has to much lemon for me.
My M.I.L said she had an amazing day with lots of treats. We dropped her off at home around 8pm, she had treat herself to afew nice things and was feeling loved. She's a very special lady.
