I’m backseat with my buddy Aron. Kiss 107.9 is playing something softly, but I can’t make it out. It turns out was an artist, Chapelle Roan. The radio personality pronounced it like a wedding chapel. Jorge’s driving us in his Kia Niro, to Waku Waku in Chinatown.
I’ve made several rides today- from a Greyhound bus into South Station this morning, to a commuter rail train to Uphams Corner.
What am I doing? Refueling before the big day tomorrow, the day today’s dry run prepared us for. We might meet a college buddy of ours, Bharath, who’s found himself a spot of trouble with the fairer sex.
I just know I want dumplings, maybe fried chicken as an appetizer.
You see, Aron’s proposing to his girlfriend tomorrow, and I’m snapping the big question. This is a major assignment for me, as I have no experience. Plus, I want to make one of the best friends I have a happy camper, by pleasing his girl with the finished product.
But I feel good. Today’s been a good day of looking backwards and forwards. You can’t jaywalk without looking both ways. It’s a life to live, made up of time too precious to waste. If you love it, you won’t.
