Hi there.
This is a quick post of a lunch I had at T & T Supermarket in Toronto.
I was not sure to post this in the Eating Out section or not. To be on the safe side, I post this under my blog.
T & T Supermarket & The Downtown Toronto Location
T & T Supermarket is a supermarket chain based in Canada that sells Asian food products and other Asian products. The CEO is Tina Lee, the successor of her mother and founder Cindy Lee. Most of the products and staff are Chinese, the stores do offer some Korean items, Japanese items, Filipino items and other Asian products.
The supermarket chain is expanding again with 3 new Canadian stores opening in 2026. They have recently entered the USA market with stores in Seattle and are planning to open a store in San Jose, California.
One of their biggest selling points is their hot food bar. You can get sushi, hot food, BBQ meats and ready to cook meals.

Dimsum Combo A Lunch
In the Toronto area, there are not many places where you can get a meal for less than 10 CAD. You do have to do some research and know your spots for meals that don't break the bank in these inflationary times.
T & T Supermarkets and similar Chinese/Asian supermarkets do offer pre-cooked meals that are ready to eat. A good handful of them have good pricing of less than 10 CAD.

I went with this Dimsum Combo A lunch set for 6.99 CAD. You get noodles, 2 Pork dumplings (Siu Mai) and 2 Shrimp Dumplings (Har Gow). If you go for regular dimsum, one order of four pork dumplings (Siu Mai) is typically around 6 or 7 CAD. Four shrimp dumplings may be a bit more at 7 or 8 CAD. This Dimsum Combo set at 6.99 CAD is really good.
The taste of the noodles and dumplings are okay. Some may think it is bland. There are little pieces of ginger in the shrimp dumplings to avoid fishy smells. This is nice.
For 6.99 CAD you cannot complain too much.
