And now for our daily shots,A Splash of Culture on Carantes Street. Walking down Carantes Street in Baguio felt like flipping through a vibrant storybook. The buildings walls burst to life with murals depicting Igorot life like warriors standing proud in traditional clothings and fun games. Each stroke of paint seemed to pulse with history and pride.
My wife and I couldn’t resist posing beside the street arts. Locals passing by grinned at our enthusiasm and some even suggesting the best angles for photos. The murals weren’t just decorations but they were conversations starters, bridging the past and present.
As the afternoon light came, the colors deepened making the scenes even more dramatic. By the time we left, our phones were full of photos.
After exploring the streets, we stopped by the cathedral for a quiet moment of prayer. Next, we filled our stomachs at a famous local restaurant, savoring steaming pan of veggies and crispy pork with rice, the perfect comfort food for a busy day. Then came the highlight: Burnham Park’s sea of these purple globe amaranth flowers. It was a simple detour to burn the food that turned into the day’s sweetest surprise.
