RE: Deep Dish in Chicago: A Pizza Pilgrimage and a Battle of the Styles

in #pizza4 days ago

I've had all the styles of pizza in my life. Italian, in Italy. New York, in New York. Regular ol' take away. Frozen. But nothing, and I mean NOTHING beats a well put together deep dish pizza.

When I flew from Australia to the US (East Coast), I'd always make sure to go out of my way to transfer through Chicago just so I could get some deep dish pizza in the airport.

Never visited the city proper. There was a deep dish pizza place here, but they've since closed down and it is absolute sadness.

I see it simply as pizza flavoured quiche, but without egg.

Sort:

I know my preference is based on my bias on New York in general but I will not say no to another opportunity of a deep dish in the future!

Oh, absolutely, all pizza is good pizza, but I like some types more. :D
