On Facebook, I shared the original article. I received this comment, a screenshot showing what Canadians see:

Just curious, can Canadians see news items posted by non-Canadians?

OK, I have since then received a comment of my Hive post on Facebook - a Canadian friend did see it. The problem with that is the Facebook algorithm, it suppressed external links in the feed, so I don't reach that many friends. The trick around this would be to post a image of a cute kitten with a short text about the real issue, and saying something like 'check the comments for more'.

I think twitter/x does the same thing. Your post won't be seen by as many people if there is a link at the top level. Better to put the link in the comments.

If it is the link to news it is blocked. I posted it on Facebook from Austria and my contact wrote back it was blocked for her. So far I got no reaction posting the link to this Hive article.
