Most hive users have probably one single hive account with which they are curating. As soon as you start to have several accounts, it gets more complicated to curate with them. When you manage a project like Liotes as I do, then it's a real nightmare to make sure that the accounts don't get to 100% voting power. Autovote services like hive.vote come in handy. You can set it up that the accounts follow for example a voting trail if their voting power goes above 95%. However, when you want to do things manually things were very complicated until recently....
A great feature by Peakd
For some time, I have been using a feature that Peakd has implemented some months ago which I don't really know how to name. Let's say it's called 'vote with' because that's the menu name that allows you to use it. In some exchanges with other people, I realized that few hive users knew about this function and I thought it might be helpful to write this little tutorial about how to use it.
What can it do?
This 'vote with' feature allows you to upvote a post with several accounts at the same time. It's a great way to save time while doing manual curation.
How to set it up?
In order to use this feature, the only thing you have to do is to add your different accounts to your keychain wallet.
Step by step guide
Once you have a post that you want to upvote, you go to the bottom of the post and click the 3 dots that are between the number of upvotes and the post value.
In the menu that opens, find the entry called 'vote with'. You can now select all the accounts that you want to vote with. If some accounts have already voted on this post, they will be in gray and you won't be able to select them.
When all the accounts that you want to vote with are selected, you need to scroll down until you reach the bottom of the list of your accounts. There you can decide how much vote weight you want to add to your votes. You can opt between 10%, 20%, 50% and 100%. In some cases, you will need to confirm with keychain a couple of times according to how things are set up for you.
You can also do it in several stages voting with some accounts at 10% and with others at another rate for example. The great thing is that you don't need to change the account that you are logged in with.
What could be improved
From having used this function quite regularly, the one thing that I would like to see improved is that instead of having the 4 options for choosing the voting power, would be to have a sliding bar where you can define the precise voting power that you want to use. Otherwise, this has been a huge time saver for my curation efforts. A big thanks to the peakd team!
