Good afternoon, today I want to talk to you about a singer who rose from the ashes and became number 1 in reggaeton. I'm talking about Nicky Jam
So let's start
Before Nicky Jam won the Latin Grammy in 2015 for best urban performance and before having a double platinum album, both for his hit "El Perdón" before a media outlet announced the death of the singer and he had to deny the publication through his Instagram account, before Nicky Jam debuted in the cinema alongside Vin Diesel, Nicky Jam.
Before his YouTube channel had more than 5 million subscribers and the video "El Perdon" with more than 513 million views. Nicky Jam is considered one of the first pioneers of reggaeton. He has been in the music business for more than 20 years. He began his career at a very young age and thanks to his talent he quickly achieved fame, but he did not know how to handle this fame so he fell into a terrible depression and lost his friendship with Daddy Yankee. He went into exile in Colombia and almost 10 years after this he would re-emerge and stronger than ever.
Nick Rivera Caminero was born on March 17, 1981 in Boston Massachusetts United States. His father is Puerto Rican and his mother is Dominican. His family moved to Puerto Rico when he was 10 years old and they were not exactly wealthy, on the contrary, they had some economic problems so he always worked as a packer in a supermarket with the sole purpose of helping his parents. His stage name was given to him by a passerby and although he did not like it, he ended up adopting it, since people began to identify him with this name. During his breaks Nick rapped at the entrance of the supermarket. One day he caught the attention of a woman who belonged to a record label and she offered him a contract and he quickly accepted it and that was how at 11 years of age, he recorded his first album.
Discografía de Nicky Jam
Distinto A Los Demás (1995):
His debut album, with a more experimental style, although it did not have a massive impact, was a promising start for the young artist.
Making Escante (2001):
This album includes notable collaborations and reflects the influence of classic reggaeton from the early 2000s.
Scanning Life (2004):
The Black Carpet (2007):
A production that combines reggaeton and urban sounds. Although it was not his most successful project
Fénix (2017):
As the album name came to light Nicky resurfaced and was launched into stardom with some very good songs
Intimate (2019):
My opinion is that Nicky Jam represents one of the most impactful and powerful stories of transformation in urban music. His life is a testament to how talent, resilience, and hard work can overcome even the deepest falls. From a young man with dreams in Puerto Rico to becoming a global figure, his journey is not only inspiring, but also shows the evolution of reggaeton as a genre, going from being an underground movement to dominating international stages.
