I can't escape the influence of the weather, which has now reached transition. I love it when something turns into something else, like dusk, when day turns into night.
We are now close to the transition from winter to spring, a time I look forward to for many reasons.
To say a few: Out of love and longing for my plants, which have endured a strange winter, mostly warmer when it should have been cold and now very cold when it should have been warmer. This inversion of temperatures has dramatically harmed the vegetation. I fear many of my garden plants may not have survived the last freezing week, with temperatures beyond freezing.
I'm also waiting for spring to come, which will pass quickly into summer, and I'll go to the seaside again...
Until then, I have been enjoying this hard winter for as long as a week, and I can't tear myself away from the walks in Circus Park, one of the places where winter can be beautiful in the city.
Of course, the joy of snow and childhood memories attract those who seek this park, especially the mature ones. Kids instinctively know how to enjoy winter.
Even if they no longer have a sled, their imagination is unlimited, and they can find anything to slide down.
I am glad to see a piece of nature and access so close to the birds that have found a home in the lake in this park.
I still can't get used to the fact that nature has come so close to the city and that the wild birds I couldn't get close to are now so near without being frightened by man's presence.
If we look closely, not at the big picture, we might think that the photographs were taken in a delta, not near a small lake in a small park in the middle of a big city!
Of course, human intervention in the environment, by encroaching on the territory of wild animals, has also pushed them to move closer to cities, especially to find food. This has made seeing so many wild animals and birds inside cities possible.
I now see hundreds of seagulls in Bucharest, where I live. My city is 200 kilometers from the sea, where seagulls usually live!
I always start with photos when I want to write a blog. Photos remind me of places, events, and feelings that turn into words.
Since we all love photography, let’s explore the captivating details captured in these photos!
A wise saying goes that a photograph is worth a thousand words, but I don't think so.
It depends on the viewer.
Make a point of looking around and up and see what you can find to get shots of that; otherwise, you may miss.
