Happy Beer Saturday #beersaturday. This weekend, we went out for an Edgar Poe Speakeasy experience, followed up by a visit to a local Legend, The Ormond Garage.
This was a nice Brown Ale when I started. I'd show you a pic of the food, but the burger was amazing, and just disappeared quickly!
The Ormond Garage is a historical icon here in Ormond Beach Florida.
It is often coined as "The birthplace of speed" taken from the early car races on the beach in Ormond and Daytona.
While this was originally a real vehicle garage focused on racing cars, it later was converted into a restaurant and bar.
This is the Stanley "Rocket Racer" steam engine car that initially set the early speed record in 1906 at 127 mph, which lasted for 4 years.
And of course, they have a selection of their own house crafted beers (I have yet to try them). Did I mention the burger was fantastic? The best we've had in the 3 months since we moved here. I can't wait to go back and try their wings and other house crafted beers.
More to come on this find for sure. Already in our top two favorites! If you're ever in the Ormond Beach or Daytona Beach area, be sure this is on your visit list!
