The United States is NOT a Democracy (Never has been)

in #alive18 days ago

Wait, didn't the people speak? Cast our ballot and choose our leader? Yes, yes and yes. But does that make us a "Democracy" ? Not at all, in fact a democracy would mean sunmitting to the type of tyranny that we fought to become freed from.

This video will give a perspective of government that explains a lot about the modern "our democracy" narrative.

Teach Your Children Liberty from Sin

We encourage parents to teach their children principles of Godliness, beginning with the Word and an understanding who God is and what His Son has done to form a relationship with us.

No one can lay a foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ. If anyone builds on this foundation using gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, or straw, his workmanship will be evident, because the Day will bring it to light. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire will prove the quality of each man’s work. 1 Corinthians 3:11-13

Teach Your children Liberty from Tyranny

Second to this is the principle of self-determination and freedom, lest we loose the ability to teach our children the first principle in future generations.

Our children read the Tuttle Twin books, specifically to learn libertarian principles, which most people learn later in life. These books are useful for our family, and yours, to teach children concepts that seem complicated, but are made simple in these books.

I am an affiliate for Libertas Publishing, your purchase will help our family grow financially.

We (third world country) are taught that the US is the land where the Democracy is practised the most!! :O

the US is the land where the Democracy is practised the most

I know, right? We democratically elect our senators, representatives and our president, but we are not an actual Democracy because all power is delegated to our electors and power is divided into three factions: House, Senate and Executive branches.

The more this original system of power division is broken, the more opportunities there are for corporations, NGO's, activist groups and even other nations to establish power in government and essentially become our "rulers". Ironically, this is done under the name of "democracy" which by it's very definition means "rule of the people". This is why politicians actually say "OUR DEMOCRACY", which references their empire of control.

The purpose of dividing power is to forbid direct "rule of the people" because that form of government has never survived more than a few decades before becoming a dictatorship or monarchy. Thankfully our system gives the people a very influential say in the rulership and direction of the country.

Each state holds a "popular vote" election for president on the first Tuesday of November, each state having a certain number of electoral collage votes based on state population. Then the president is ELECTED on January 6th, when the electorates gather and cast their vote for president, then the vice-president (Kamala Harris) certifies the election, then the president is inaugurated January 20th.

Noted.

Thanks

I find it funny to, in an ironic sort of way.

I have gone through your post but couldn't get your point, dear bro.
Will you please elaborate on it?
I will be thankful to you.
Thanks...

Thank you, my point was as clear as mud. To be honest, I just wanted to post the video, which explains more clearly, but that's lazy of me.

The US is not a democracy, but a REPUBLIC, governed by democratically elected representatives. A REPUBLIC governed by democratically elected representatives does "give the people a say" and those who govern the people are elected by "majority vote". But neither of these attributes makes the entire country a "Democracy". The word "Democracy" has been twisted to confuse and deceive the people.

By democratically electing our representatives, power is given to the people. This election is an illustration of "democracy in action" in that the people have spoken and have authority to determine the direction of our governance. But by HIDING the true form of government, a Representative Republic, it gives great advantage to those who want to manipulate the minds of the people to "restore democracy" not by voting, not by getting involved in local politics, not by activism, but by seizing power by "mob rule", which we may see if there is to be rioting in the coming days.

Oh yes..
I got it now.
Thanks for explaining.

'Democracy governed directly by the people' is it even possible? What happens when people don't agree on the issue? Who is the judge in democracy?

One more thing: if 'the people' is entire entity and everyone decides on equal basis, doesn't that make all decisions an average solution, not the best one?

Just m2c :D

'Democracy governed directly by the people' is it even possible?

Democracy is not possible on a large scale. There are no judges, no recourse, no law enforcement, no laws really. If 51% of a nation decides to imprison and slaughter 49% of the nation, it is completely fair game under a "democracy" because the majority of people have had their say. Democracy as a form of government does not and cannot exist, especially in the US.

But if we have to label the US with some sort of "ocracy", since our Republic is made up of democratically elected representatives, it's comforting to say "democracy". Not that it's really the case. We are a "Republic of Democratically Elected Representatives", or "Constitutional Republic" as is the shortened version of that.

Maybe a "Constitutionocracy", or "Rule of the Constitution" would best describe the US.

if 'the people' is entire entity and everyone decides on equal basis, doesn't that make all decisions an average solution, not the best one?

Yes! The country would become a "mediocracy".

So if "mediocracy" is not the optimal solution for the US or any other state does 'Republic of Democratically Elected Representatives' solves this problem or there is better solution?

In the world where the new feudalism is raising shouldn't we try to reverse the flow? Shouldn't we be afraid of losing basic 'democratic' rights like freedom of speech, access to clean water and nature?

I thought the election was free and fair?🤔

What happened?
You don't like the results?

Very happy with the election results! The new administration will restore the constitutionally required structure of government, overturning the narratives that we've been subjected to the last four years. Our new president is NOT an monarch or dictator, but a duly elected PRESIDENT of ONE of THREE branches of the government.

"Democracy" means "Rule of the People". As a "people" this sounds great, but in practice it's never worked throughout history. It's mob rule. So our founders came up with a brilliant system of government based on democratically elected representatives, so the people of each STATE in the Union can decide who will operate the Federal Government, including president.

The US government is a Republic, governed by democratically elected representatives, but not governed directly by the people. The definition has been twisted though, saying that by the public "having a say" and that rulers are elected with "majority rule", that this makes a "Rule of the People", but this is not the case.

Okay.
Glad for a good turnaround.

So very true!🙄

Great post, particularly at this time in our history. In my years as a political activist (District Leader over 42 precincts), I was easily in 200 different homes, over time, in various attempts to find those willing to serve ...

My first question?

"In newspapers / magazines / TV shows (that pretty much covered the options in those pre-Internet days), we often see reference to America being the greatest democracy on earth. Do you agree?"

Sadly ... Not ONE time did I receive anything other than different levels of enthusiasm in saying, "Yes!" Well ...

"America is a republic, not a democracy."

What? The responses ranged all over the place, but it was sad how often I got a response something like:

"Isn't that more or less the same thing? What is the difference?"

🙄😒😞

Today? The historical fact America is a republic, not a democracy, was at least mentioned, however infrequently, back then, but I almost never hear even a mention of it today.

Very nice (on your other post) to see the State Rep you were canvassing on behalf of was successful! Kudos to you! I hope your children will one day thank you for your efforts, on their behalf.

There is no pure democracy in the world, just as there is no perfect democracy.
This is good for me because there is always a reason that drives us to improve and that’s enough for me.
!ALIVE

I see your point.
It's important to distinguish between a democracy and a republic, and the video you shared sheds light on the differences.
Thanks for sharing this perspective.

Well... A republic is the People selecting Others (from a pool driven by money) who listen to the People, and then do what They want - or what They're paid to do.

In theory, without money, a republic is better than a demo(n)cracy, where it's two wolves and a sheep deciding what's for dinner, but not much better.

Far better would be a solutocracy, and especially when the need to account for Our energy added into a system is removed.
