There's been some word about Tik-Tok and it's ban in the US. People have been wondering if it will actually happen on January 19th as determined. Well today is the day and not only is the Tik-Tok app banned, but a fairly long list of other popular apps.
A surprising app that was banned alongside Tik Tok is CapCut, a video editing software tool. This is very unfortunate for people who didn't download their video creations and no cannot retrieve them.... like my daughter.
This is the screen we saw this morning as my daughter tried opening CapCut to edit her videos:
She has been making CapCut creations for the last month and when she tried opening the app, we got a message that that app is banned in the US.
Are her creations lost forever?
A New Administration
Today (January 19th, 2025) is the last day of the Biden Administration in the US. Tomorrow, (God-willing) Donald J. Trump will be inaugurated and a new Trump Administration will be in effect.
It's quite possible that among his day-one tasks, will be the reinstatement of the banned apps... but we don't know for sure. We'll find out tomorrow!
Does anyone else use these apps on their Apple products?
