Summer is about as great a season to enjoy a beer and #beersaturday is probably the best day of the week. You are invited to leave a huge upvote and join our friend @detlev to create your own post with the gang! So glad to have found a home with beer drinkers across the world on my favourite blockchain.
For week 421, I am jamming and brewing and watching the fights!

The Shorty of the Week is back again with repeat favourite Black Swan Brewing Most breweries offer pint cans these days. Not Black Swan! They seem to be less value than the larger cans but a small beer is a great option to have in the fridge. Road Trip is a light session ale with plenty of taste despite the low IBU. Perfect for a light snack while watching the fights!

Wonder Box!
If you remember last week's episode, I was cruising to the big city to go jam with the band for a show we have coming up this summer and picked up this mixed pack of one-off beers from Flying Monkeys Here are a couple of the other wild beers inside enjoyed during our session.

Roll Up!
After I had the mic set up and peeps were figuring out their lyrics, I cracked into a beer to whet the whistle. Roll-Up Pomello IPA has a lot going on now that I look into it. The dry hop stage includes Euphorics Terpenes Pomelo Daydream, Euphorics Terpenes Peachy Keen* Apparently, these are liquid soluble hops and botanicals https://www.hops.com.au/euphorics/ Pretty wild and progressive stuff which I would absolutely expect from Flying Monkeys. Pretty big rehearsal beer.

Scratch & Sniff
The last selection in this combo pack was Scratch 'n Sniff Strawberries & Cream IPA It was another fruity, tasteful punch at a reasonable 6% ABV and I was beginning to wonder if there was any end to their new beers with silly labels and wild additions. Turns out this one is equally as progressive with its special dry-hop additionas listed as Strata, Sabro, Strawberry Purrée, Skyfarm Strawberry Terpenes, Real Vanilla Extract, Lactose. WTF is a Skyfarm Strawberry Terpene? Well now we both know! Either way, the sweet vanilla fruit made this one a beautiful punch in the mout!

Brewing
Golf and vacations sure has screwed with out brewing schedule. We usually brew 60 litres per week of core brews then the occasional 20-litres one off beer. Not so much in the summer even though it is a fantastic season to be drinking beer. Even Brewery Dog loves having the gragae door open in the summer for a brew.
Having just kegged a cream ale and a peach rhubarb session ale, we got back to the basics and brewed up batches of our award winning Amber Ale and the latest IPA, we are in a good spot. We shuffled the flavour and bittering hops a little in hopes of keeping the tropical fruity taste of our NEIPA and reducing the coconut flavour a touch. In a couple weeks, we will get to taste the results and see if we are headed toward my perfect balance of sweet, bitter, strong and smooth. The holy grail for this Beerologist and his IPA.
