For today's lunch, I visited An Viet, a Vietnamese restaurant located at the Mid Valley Garden Mall. It has a cosy, modern vibe. The warm lighting from stylish wireframe lamps, the natural wood ceiling accents, and the greenery on the walls create a relaxing atmosphere. The seating is simple with wooden tables and metal chairs, giving it a casual yet neat look. You can see part of the open kitchen where the staff prepares the food, adding a lively, welcoming feel.
After looking at the menu, I ordered the grilled lemongrass chicken with vermicelli. The total cost is RM23.10 after including the service tax.
The dish looks fresh and colourful. It has juicy pieces of grilled lemongrass-marinated chicken, laid over a bed of soft vermicelli noodles. Around it, there are fresh lettuce, mint leaves, bean sprouts, and pickled carrots and daikon. It’s served with a side of tangy fish sauce dressing and a wedge of lime to brighten up the flavors.
Bún gà nướng is a classic Vietnamese dish. "Bún" means rice vermicelli, and "nướng" means grilled. It's a popular street food that combines the smoky flavors of grilled meat with fresh herbs, crunchy vegetables, and light noodles. Originally, dishes like this were a way to create a complete, refreshing meal perfect for Vietnam’s tropical climate.
