Last Tuesday, March 4, Its a happy lunch together with my colleagues because our Team leader treated us to Lunch. We had our goal task in one week, but we didn't hit it, and she still rewarded us for our effort to reach those goals. So we ate together at a restaurant near our project site.
Fat Grill is the name of the restaurant, located in the Groove Park Malvar Batangas Philippines. This is a small restaurant, but it is cozy and clean inside. This is our on-the-go restaurant when having a small celebration or when we want to eat something unusual with our taste buds. Their foods here are unique and have delightful taste.
For the foods they offer you can see the menus below, I just take it in the food delivery website where the restaurant is listed. Because of the excitement of food, I forgot to capture the menu list 😅. Anyway, you can check the photos below for your reference.

What did we order?
Mine, I order the Fat Boy's Liempo it cost 171 Pesos, its one of their signature meal, it is a grilled pork billy with small dried fish and boiled egg, ofcourse as a Filipno always with rice 😅. I love how they season the pork and how it is compatible with the dried fish.
And wait, when you dip it in their signature vinegar, the taste is mind-blowing. I think it's not an ordinary vinegar; It's not the usual vinegar we are used to, and it tastes good with the pork billy and dried fish.
My other three colleagues ordered the Monggollan Fried Rice and partnered it with steamed and fried siomai, It's only 135 pesos, and the siomai is 55 pesos. It's a huge rice bowl, its good for very hungry costumer and I think you cant finish it in just one set like my other three colleagues, they take out the half and eat for dinner.
I love the siomai, I think they are the one who made it. it's a delightful and perfect partner to the sauce.
My other colleague ordered Finding Dory, which cost 151 Pesos only. It is a fish felly with noodles aside and a special sauce. It tastes good. It tastes good. I tried it before, during our last visit. I think if Nemo is still looking for Dory, he will find it in Fat Grill 😅.
Our team leader ordered the Orange Chicken, a chicken fillet coated in sweet and savory sauce with Java rice and noodles. I tried to taste a small portion of it, and it tasted good. The sweetness and orange flavor are melting in your mouth when you eat it. I think this might be my next order on the next visit.
We also ordered fried noodles with fried siomai toppings for everyone. The noodles have a savory sauce at the bottom that makes them soft when you mix it. I think it is made with soy, and I can't gues the other ingredients 😅, It's a strong sauce, and when you try it, you should spread it widely to the noodles. But overall all when the Fried noodles absorb it, it tastes good, and you don't mind you eat too much already like I did 😅.
We are all full and satisfied with our food and happy with what we've ordered. While we are waiting for the excess food pack from the crew for takeout, one of my colleagues tells us an announcement that shocks everyone.
Parting Announcement
Before we went out, our Team Leader told us to stay seated first because one of our colleagues, "Edeza," had an announcement. Everyone got silent and focused our attention on her, We were all shocked when she told us that she would leave the company in the next few weeks and had already decided to resign.
In the early weeks of the year, after a big shift in the company and the management, we are expecting a moment like this, though not too soon, and within our team. In her decision, we restrain her, especially when talking about job security. I know everyone in the team has also now been thinking about it for a while and is now also looking for the right time and company.
Edeza has been on the team for almost a year already, she is one of the special forces focusing in the Mechanical and Electrical works. Her skill and knowledge is a big contribution in strengthening the team capability. She is also one of my good friends I made outside work. Glad all her demands and expectations are given in her new company, and she deserves it.
It's not new to me, in our working environment in corporate world, people are not always with you. Its sad actually, especially when you have a strong bond with each other but we need to accept that in our life "people come and go".
So make sure, always make good memories with your workmates or people who are around you today, though there's a time you will leave each other, the memories and the moment you spent with for sure will remain within your heart and mind.
Just like the foods we eat above, though we empty our plate and digest it, the feeling and delightful taste will still remain in us, and we will not forget it.
