Craving for something sweet and soft is not usual to me because I am not a sweet tooth. But when it happens to be that I am after some cakes or chocolates, it means I am looking for something to lift my mood up – a recharge.

Recently, we have been hearing a lot about the newly-opened café in our town and how they make perfect coffees from Caramel Macchiato to Spanish Latte. Since it’s a café, I know they have some pastries as well. Aside from their coffee, we also read a review about their “Tiramisu Cake”. And to satisfy both my curiosity of this new café and my cravings, my partner and I decided to go there and try it.

It took us around 20 minutes of ride before we got to the town proper and found the gem. Of course, we also ordered some coffee for two – one Caramel Macchiato and one Spanish Latte. I asked for their best-selling Tiramisu Cake, and luckily, there was still one slice left. Since I am not into sweets that much, it was enough for the two of us.

When everything was served on our table, the first thing we did was try the cake. That’s what we came in the café for, aside from the coffee. We grabbed our forks, and started digging in in the slice of the cake.

Here’s an honest review on my part. As someone who doesn’t like cakes that much, I can say that this one exceeds my expectation. Truly, it was worth the good reviews and the hype in our town. As I tried the first bite from the cake, I can say that it was 100% perfect.

The layers were a perfect combination of softness and moist, and everything just melts in the mouth. The sponge has the perfect balance of sweetness and flavor, plus the additional taste coming from the mascarpone filling. Everything was flavorful and delicious.

I love the fact that it was not too sweet for me, compared to the previous Tiramisu Cake I’ve tried before. It is perfect for people who are not dessert lovers, and I can confidently say that this one was worth trying. My partner also mentioned how the cake was a perfect partner for the coffee we had. Truly, a highly recommended pair of cake and iced coffee.
