Comenzaré con una anécdota graciosa: la primera vez que visité Café Almagro, fue hace unos años en un aniversario de Boda, luego de comer en un restaurante retirado, mi esposo y yo decidimos caminar por el parque Las Vegas y vimos este Café que ese entonces era algo nuevo, nos gustó mucho como se veía. Así que nos acercamos, sentamos y luego de unos minutos un chico se acercó para preguntarnos si ibamos a ordenar algo, en realidad solo queríamos un café, pues ya habíamos cenado. En ese momento respondimos que si y el joven con una sonrisa avergonzada, nos dijo que ya habían cerrado 😆🫣.
Por ello, hoy sí les traigo una reseña del lugar, aunque desde esa anécdota ya he comido varias veces allí, pero el hambre puede más que crear contenido.

I’ll start with a funny story: the first time I visited Café Almagro was a few years ago on Boba’s birthday. After eating at a secluded restaurant, my husband and I decided to take a walk through Las Vegas Park, and we spotted this café—which was still fairly new at the time—and really liked the way it looked. So we went in, sat down, and after a few minutes, a young man came over to ask if we were going to order anything. Actually, we just wanted a coffee, since we’d already had dinner. We said yes, and the young man, with an embarrassed smile, told us they were already closed 😆🫣.
That’s why I’m finally bringing you a review of the place today—even though I’ve eaten there several times since that incident—but hunger trumps content creation.
A mi me compran por la vista, pero tambien con comida, no se engañen. Este lugar llamó y siempre llama mi atención por su estructura, la vista y su techo que tanto amo. En una oportunidad les mostré fotografía de este techo. Pero en definitiva un lugar puede ser muy lindo, pero si su comida no está a la altura, no regreso. Claro, ese no es el caso de Café Almagro, un lugar donde la Comida y el buen comer, nos une.
Ayer se cumplieron 2 meses desde que papá no está con nosotros, así que algunos de mis hermanos y yo, decidimos reunirnos para hacer lo que más nos gusta a los Pachecos hacer: comer. El lugar, es especial. Papá amaba comer en un lugar como este Café y amaba vernos juntos y escucharnos reír mientras contábamos anécdotas.
Café Almagro, tiene un menú muy completo, desde desayunos, hasta comidas internacionales con una mezcla de lo nacional, sin perder la esencia de cada país y su gastronomía. La atención es buena, pero el tiempo de espera ai es demasiado, dependiendo de lo que hayas pedido.

I’m drawn in by the view, but also by the food—don’t be fooled. This place has always caught my eye because of its architecture, the view, and that ceiling I love so much. I once showed you a photo of that ceiling. But ultimately, a place can be really beautiful, but if the food doesn’t measure up, I won’t go back. Of course, that’s not the case with Café Almagro, a place where food and good eating bring us together.
Yesterday marked two months since Dad left us, so some of my siblings and I decided to get together to do what we Pachecos love most: eat. The place is special. Dad loved eating at a place like this café, and he loved seeing us together and hearing us laugh as we shared stories.
Café Almagro has a very extensive menu, ranging from breakfast to international dishes with a twist of local flavors, without losing the essence of each country and its cuisine. The service is good, but the wait time can be too long, depending on what you’ve ordered.

La comida es rica, algunas cosas muy buenas, como las Brochetas de carne: una carne de lomo suave, en brocheta con vegetales y una chimichurri que en realidad no le hacen justicia. El pollo Crispy, es bueno, aunque he comido mejores jajaja, viene acompañado con una salsa BBQ y papas fritas. El sándwich de Cerdo o de pierna es bueno, siempre es bueno, pero me gustaria un pan con algo más de color, para que tuviera una apariencia pálida, este venía acompañado con papas fritas y un ají que amé.
También probamos unos tequeños o deditos de plátano maduro rellenos con queso. Realmente sí tenían queso, acompañados con una salsa BBQ. Mientras que para tomar, todos pedimos Liminada de Coco con Hierba buena, que cosa más rica, aunque algo fuerte, pero realmente es una bebida bastante refrescante, no se le siente tanto el sabor del coco y bastante el de hierba buena.

The food is delicious; some items are really good, like the beef skewers: tender sirloin on a skewer with vegetables and a chimichurri sauce that doesn't really do it justice. The crispy chicken is good, though I've had better, haha, and it comes with BBQ sauce and french fries. The pork or ham sandwich is good—it’s always good—but I’d prefer bread with a bit more color so it doesn’t look so pale. This one came with french fries and a chili sauce that I loved.
We also tried some tequeños—little ripe plantain fingers stuffed with cheese. They really did have cheese, served with a BBQ sauce. As for drinks, we all ordered coconut limeade with mint—so delicious, though a bit strong—but it’s actually a pretty refreshing drink; you don’t really taste the coconut that much, but the mint comes through quite strongly.

Las porciones que sirven son bastante buenas en relación tamaño - precio, creo que realmente vale la pena. El sitio se presta para cenas románticas y reuniones. El ambiente es tranquilo, semi oscuro con luces bajas y música suave, perfecta para hablar sin interrupciones.

Añadir a esos platos una rica ensalada, al menos a algunos y así hacer de la experiencia más fresca y placentera.

The portions they serve are quite good value for money, and I think it’s really worth it. The place is perfect for romantic dinners and gatherings. The atmosphere is calm, dimly lit with soft lighting and gentle music—perfect for conversation without interruptions.

Add a delicious salad to those dishes—at least to some of them—to make the experience fresher and more enjoyable.
