Hoy les quiero comentar de un sitio que tenía dos meses 😮 esperando por ir. Contaba los días y cada vez que veía su publicidad en Instagram de ¡Ven! ¡Comeme! me permitía saborearme en mi mente esperando y descontando esos días que pudiera matar mi antojo.
Es que "la mata de la empanada" se encuentra en el estado La Guaira y me tuve que esperar hasta diciembre para probar sus empanadas de 30 cm de grande. Este concepto lo he visto en varios artistas pero en Caracas así que cuando lo vi allí, no dude en agendarlo como un punto que debíamos visitar.

Today I want to tell you about a place that I had two months 😮 waiting to go. I counted the days and every time I saw their Instagram advertisement of ¡come! ¡eat me! it allowed me to savour in my mind waiting and discounting those days that I could kill my craving. The fact is that "la mata de la empanada" is located in the state of La Guaira and I had to wait until December to try their 30 cm empanadas. I have seen this concept in several artists but in Caracas so when I saw it there, I didn't hesitate to make it a must visit.
Lo bueno, es que me queda muy cerquita de mi casa pero por una razón u otra, siempre lo dejabamos para "otro día", así que ese día nos levantamos temprano y dije "HOY ES EL DÍA".
Resulta que a primera vista, parece un kiosco cualquiera donde venden esta comida de dioses, pero no; viendo y estudiando el nombre de "mata", me di cuenta que ¡ESTA EN UNA MATA!
The good thing is that it is very close to my house but for one reason or another, we always left it for "another day", so that day we got up early and I said "TODAY IS THE DAY". It turns out that at first glance, it looks like a kiosk where they sell this food of gods, but no; seeing and studying the name "mata", I realized that IT IS IN A TREE!
Resulta que el lugar esta de un ladito de un estacionamiento en un edificio donde existe un gran árbol pero como son en esa ciudad que de todo hacen un espacio, entonces pusieron su puesto de comida allí. Imagino que principalmente fueron un puesto pequeño pero debido a su gran fama, ya hoy tienen un local bien establecido y un punto de referencia para las personas de la zona y foráneos como yo.
El lugar es muy bonito. Tiene una barra y dos mesas; Pensé que era suficiente porque cuando llegamos estaba vacío pero no, las personas van y vienen a cada rato, piden, salen, llevan, piden mas, y a medida que fue avanzando el tiempo el sitio se hacía más pequeño. Menos mal yo tomé mi mesa y me apoderé de ella.
It turns out that the place is on the side of a car park in a building where there is a big tree, but as they are in that city they make room for everything, so they put their food stall there. I imagine that they were mainly a small stall but due to their great fame, today they have a well established place and a reference point for people from the area and outsiders like me. The place is very nice. It has a bar and two tables; I thought it was enough because when we arrived it was empty but no, people come and go all the time, they order, leave, take away, order more, and as time went on the place became smaller. Thank goodness I took my table and took it over.
El tiempo de espera fue como de 20 minutos, pero me gustó su orden y limpieza. La chica que atiende muy amablemente nos indicaba cuanto tiempo le hacía falta a nuestro pedido y de qué número estabamos.
Otra cosa que me gustó fueron las alternativas. Desde las mas simple y tradicionales hasta las grande, que era por la que yo iba 💯 existen muchas combinaciones y si no hay algo o no lo ves, no te preocupes que ellos resuelven.
The waiting time was about 20 minutes, but I liked the order and cleanliness. The girl very kindly told us how much time we needed to wait for our order and what number we were in. Another thing I liked were the alternatives. From the simplest and most traditional to the big ones, which was the one I was going for 💯 there are many combinations and if there is something missing or you don't see it, don't worry, they will solve it.
Los precios de verdad que no los vi exagerados, tomando en cuenta que es una atracción para la foto y la puesta en las redes sociales, pero considero que no es algo para ir diariamente primero por salud y segundo por el bolsillo je,je,je.
Mi madre, que no se anotó en el reto pidio una de pollo simple; mi conquista eligió una de carne mechada y yo una de "catira" que es pollo con queso amarillo.
I really didn't find the prices exaggerated, taking into account that it's an attraction for the photo and for putting it on social networks, but I don't think it's something to go for every day, firstly for health reasons and secondly for my wallet. My mother, who didn't sign up for the challenge, ordered a simple chicken one; my conquest chose a "carne mechada" and I chose a "catira" which is chicken with yellow cheese.
Mientras eperabamos, veiamos a los demás con sus empanadas y mis ansias crecian ¿podría con ella? ¿tendría buen sabor? hasta que ¡taran! LLEGÓ NUESTRO PEDIDO.
Yo soy de siempre pedir tres empanadas, pero por la ocasión solo pedí una.
As we waited, we watched the others with their empanadas and my anxiety grew, would I be able to handle it, would it taste good, until Tartan! OUR ORDER ARRIVED. I always order three empanadas, but for the occasion I only ordered one.
Comencé a comerla y cada mordisco estaba lleno de comida de pollo y queso, es decir, rellena de inicio a final. La masa estaba suave y delgada, cosa que me gusta porque asi es que se hace una buena empanada. De igual forma, también estaba con el toque dulce como se come en mi región así que no había manera que no me gustara.
I started to eat it and every bite was full of chicken and cheese meal, that is, stuffed from start to finish. The dough was soft and thin, which I like because that's how you make a good empanada. Likewise, it was also with the sweet touch as it is eaten in my region so there was no way I wouldn't like it.
Esta última foto es mentira 😮 ¿Por qué? Porque no pude comerla toda 🤣😂😅. Al final era tanta comida que mi J.J terminó comiendo como un 20% de la empanada porque yo no pude, los defraudé je,je,je.

Lo único que no me gustó, fueron los gatos que estaban en la zona. Pienso que a veces es inevitable por las leyes que existen en mi país sobre el maltrato animal, pero debemos considerar que es comida y esos animales callejeros no deben estar encima, pero ese es otro asunto.
Mientras seguía llegando clientes y con una panza de 15 cm mas grande de la que llegué🐷, nos despedimos del lugar al que pienso volver en otra ocasión porque quedé con las ganas de probar las de pescado u otro sabor.
The only thing I didn't like were the cats that were in the area. I think that sometimes it is unavoidable because of the laws that exist in my country about animal abuse, but we must consider that it is food and those stray animals should not be on top of it, but that is another matter. As the customers continued to arrive and with a belly 15 cm bigger than when I arrived🐷, we said goodbye to the place to which I plan to return another time because I wanted to try the fish or other flavours.

P.S. An empanada is a typical breakfast dish that is made with flour (BREAD) and filled with different things (except salad or banana, that doesn't go together), fried and ready to enjoy. Although it sounds simple, I don't think it is because it can break or not look very good, but it is a very tasty dish that if you learn to make it, it will become your daily routine.
