The days of December are now behind us, along with their traditional food—which, by the way, I enjoy very much—but it's time to break out of the routine and rediscover new flavors. Today I want to introduce you to a place in Maracay that had been on my to-do list for a while: Bulls.
Los días de diciembre ya quedaron atrás, junto a su comida típica —que, por cierto, disfruto muchísimo—, pero ya es momento de salir de la rutina y volver a descubrir nuevos sabores. Hoy quiero presentarles un lugar en Maracay que llevaba tiempo en mi lista de pendientes: Bulls.
Ever since I heard about this place, I've been dying to visit it, and I must confess that the first thing that caught my attention was its combo deals at really attractive prices. Bulls is located in the northern part of the city, and perhaps because of the distance, I had put off visiting it for longer than I should have, but it was totally worth the wait.
Desde que supe de este sitio, tenía muchísimas ganas de visitarlo, y debo confesar que lo primero que captó mi atención fue su propuesta de combos a precios realmente atractivos. Bulls está ubicado en la zona norte de la ciudad y, quizás por la distancia, había postergado la visita más de la cuenta, pero valió totalmente la espera.
The restaurant is quite spacious, with cozy décor that invites you to linger. The music, well selected and at the perfect volume, accompanied the entire lunch and undoubtedly made the experience much more enjoyable. The concept revolves around the bull, as its name suggests, and I found this an interesting detail, especially since Maracay is also known as the birthplace of bullfighters and for the strong symbolic presence of this imposing animal. This cultural nod gives the place its identity and personality.
El local es bastante amplio, con una decoración acogedora que invita a quedarse. La música, bien seleccionada y a un volumen perfecto, acompañó todo el almuerzo y sin duda hizo que la experiencia fuera mucho más agradable. El concepto gira alrededor del toro, como bien lo indica su nombre, y me pareció un detalle interesante, sobre todo porque Maracay también es conocida por ser cuna de toreros y por la fuerte presencia simbólica de este imponente animal. Ese guiño cultural le da identidad y personalidad al lugar.
But now let's get to what really matters: the food. This time, I decided to try a combo that's ideal for sharing, which includes two burgers and two farm-fresh sides, for $13. The combo doesn't include drinks or fries, but for just an extra $2, you can add them, which I think is an excellent option.
Pero ahora sí, vamos a lo que realmente importa: la comida. En esta oportunidad decidí probar un combo ideal para compartir, que incluye 2 hamburguesas y 2 granjeros, con un costo de 13 dólares. El combo no trae bebidas ni papas, pero por solo 2 dólares adicionales puedes sumarlas, lo cual me parece una excelente opción.
I must admit that, since it was a combo, I thought the portions would be small. However, when I saw the order on the table, I was pleasantly surprised: the portions were quite generous. I even wondered for a moment if I would be able to finish my share, but I did, and I enjoyed it very much. Without a doubt, at Bulls you eat well and leave satisfied.
Debo admitir que, al tratarse de un combo, pensé que las porciones serían pequeñas. Sin embargo, al ver la orden sobre la mesa, me llevé una grata sorpresa: las porciones eran bastante generosas. Incluso dudé por un momento si lograría terminar mi parte, pero sí pude, y lo disfruté muchísimo. Sin duda, en Bulls se come bien y quedas satisfecho.
I started by trying the farmer's sandwich, which consists of bread with a piece of breaded chicken, accompanied by lettuce and mayonnaise. This bite took me straight back to my childhood, when this type of food was one of my favorites. The chicken was crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and had a flavor that I found very comforting. Really delicious.
Comencé probando el granjero, que consiste en pan, con una pieza de pollo empanizado, acompañada de lechuga y mayonesa. Este bocado me llevó directamente a mi infancia, cuando este tipo de comida era de mis favoritas. El pollo estaba crujiente por fuera, jugoso por dentro y con un sabor que me resultó muy reconfortante. Realmente delicioso.
Then I moved on to the burger, which came with lettuce, tomato, onion, and a touch of pickles that enhanced its flavor. Something I loved was that the meat had that characteristic grilled taste, very well done, which made every bite even more enjoyable. Honestly, the burger met and exceeded my expectations.
Luego pasé a la hamburguesa, que venía acompañada de lechuga, tomate, cebolla y un toque de pepinillos que elevaba su sabor. Algo que me encantó fue que la carne tenía ese gusto característico de parrilla, muy bien logrado, lo que hizo que cada bocado fuera aún más disfrutable. Sinceramente, la hamburguesa cumplió y superó mis expectativas.
One detail that deserves special mention—and which, in my opinion, deserves all the applause—is that, unlike other similar fast food places such as Burger King or McDonald's, Bulls offers three varieties of sauces: garlic sauce, tartar sauce, and cheese sauce. This small but significant detail allows you to customize each bite and enjoy your food in different ways. For me, this bonus is one of the reasons why I would definitely return.
Un detalle que merece mención especial —y que para mí se lleva todos los aplausos— es que, a diferencia de otros lugares de comida rápida similares como Burger King o McDonald’s, en Bulls ofrecen tres variedades de salsas: salsa de ajo, tártara y salsa de queso. Este pequeño gran detalle te permite personalizar cada bocado y disfrutar la comida de distintas formas. Para mí, este plus es una de las razones por las que definitivamente volvería.
I loved Bulls. It's a place with good food, generous portions, affordable prices, and an overall pleasant experience.
