In Venezuela it is very popular a drink based on rice and milk, which we know as chicha because it is easy to prepare, delicious and very nutritious, and it has also been experimented with its initial ingredients and wheat paste, ocumo, auyama or yucca have been added to the mixture. In the streets of Cumana, we usually find street vendors offering this drink along with other options.
In addition to condensed milk and cinnamon, chocolate chips or drops, arequipe, cookies of different presentations, cereals such as Flips, colored rings, among others, are usually added, which turns a chicha into a dessert. To the preparation they add slush ice, which makes it refreshing.
When I was strolling a couple of days ago on Bermudez Avenue, I approached the chichero that is located in the Gina Shopping Center. His enterprise is called Chica e Gollito, I have very good references because some of my relatives have tried the drink and the recipe has had positive comments, above all, that this guy does not exaggerate with the ice, so he is generous with the product and the prices are quite reasonable, he has different measures and toppings to please all tastes.
I ordered my chicha in the traditional way, the seller very kindly gave me the right dose of condensed milk and cinnamon. This chicha is based on rice, which is my favorite, although I have also tried the pasta and ocumo, made by my dad and he has that special culinary touch, his preparations are very tasty.
When I got my order, I went into the mall and I was ready to drink my chicha in the Cafetín area, this drink had just the right touch of milk and sugar, therefore, it was not cloying. It was not too thick either, pleasant to drink. All in all, it was a pleasant and different experience.

Su emprendimiento se llama Chica e Gollito, tengo muy buenas referencias porque algunos de mis familiares han probado la bebida y la receta ha tenido comentarios positivos, sobre todo, que este muchacho no exagera con el hielo, así que es generoso con el producto y los precios son bastantes razonables, tiene diferentes medidas y toppings para complacer todos los gustos.
Pedí mi chicha de la forma tradicional, el vendedor muy amable me colocó la dosis justa de leche condensada y canela. Esta chicha es a base de arroz, que es mi favorita, aunque también he probado la de pasta y ocumo, hechas por mi papá y él tiene ese toque culinario especial, sus preparaciones quedan muy sabrosas.
Cuando me dieron mi pedido, entre al Centro Comercial y me dispuse a tomarme mi chicha en la zona del Cafetín, esta bebida tenía el toque justo de leche y azúcar, por lo tanto, no estaba empalagosa. Tampoco estaba muy espesa, agradable al beber. En definitiva, fue una experiencia grata y diferente.
