Disgrace for football

The final is set, it is Spain versus England on Sunday evening. But the way in which it happened tonight will forever cast a dark shadow over England’s qualification for the final.

In a phase in the box of The Netherlands, Harry Kane wants to shoot a half volley. Denzel Dumfries tries to block the shot and puts his leg up a little lower than Harry Kane does. Eventually Kane hits the ball over the goal and kicks against the shoe of Dumfries.

Something like this happens a dozen times per game, and was in no way dangerous or foul play by Dumfries. Yet, the Video Assistent Referee found otherwise and persuaded the referee to give a penalty. Which brought England back in the game.

A clear disgrace for the beautiful game of football…
