Diocletian's Palace Catering | [Eng][Esp]

Credit to @lordbutterfly for giving us the luxury of an unequalled experience, organizing the second day of HiveFest conferences in the same dungeons where Daenerys Targaryen guarded her beloved dragons. For any fan of the Game of Thrones series, it is an absolute pleasure to have spent an entire day, with full access to the fortress warehouses, where the very same Emilia Clarke and Peter Dinklage were filming the series. We were definitely surrounded by iconic and privileged locations during this edition.

The difference with the location where the previous day's talks took place was significant. Both wonderful spaces but quite opposite. This space was almost perfect, if it had not been a dungeon by definition that prevented us from accessing mobile data, it would not have any drawbacks. But I think the most important thing was that sense of magic you felt being in there, it was a large space, where the sound was very well perceived and the atmosphere was kept naturally cool, something we were infinitely grateful for.

The catering was provided by the same company as the previous day, something that guaranteed us many options and a very pleasant attention from the waiters who accompanied us throughout the day.

Hay que reconocerle a @lordbutterfly que supo darnos el lujo de tener una experiencia inigualable, organizando el segundo día de conferencias del HiveFest en las mismas mazmorras en donde Daenerys Targaryen resguardaba a sus queridos dragones. Para cualquier fan de la serie Juego de Tronos es un absoluto gusto haber pasado un día entero, con total acceso a las bodegas de la fortaleza, en donde estuvieron los mismísimos Emilia Clarke y Peter Dinklage filmando la serie. Definitivamente, durante esta edición estuvimos rodeados de locaciones icónicas y privilegiadas.

La diferencia con la ubicación donde se desarrollaron las charlas el día anterior era significativa. Ambos espacios maravillosos pero bastante opuestos. Este espacio era casi perfecto, si no hubiese sido un calabozo por definición que nos impedía acceder a los datos móviles, no tuviera ninguna pega. Pero creo que lo más importante era esa sensación de magia que se sentía al estar ahí dentro, era un espacio amplio, donde el sonido se apreciaba muy bien y el ambiente se mantenía naturalmente fresco, algo que agradecimos infinita mente.

El catering estuvo a cargo de la misma empresa que el día anterior, algo que nos garantizaba muchas opciones y una atención bastante grata por parte de los camareros que nos acompañaron durante toda la jornada.

Breakfast

And since we were like in dungeons and dragons the best thing to do was getting into the character and enjoying the food as if we were mythological beings, with an exquisite style and in great quantity.

We prepared for the second day of presentations with a full-on breakfast. This time with some additional options, such as a variety of cakes that I really enjoyed.

I was also able to get in time to take pictures of the choices we had before we all started eating, because the day before it was a little late when I came to take the pictures, so here are the complete breakfast catering dishes we had.

Also, to really get into the Roman culture of the city, @roelandp introduced us to some actors who started the event playing the emperor and his soldiers, who then went around entertaining people and taking pictures.

Y ya que estábamos como en calabozos y dragones lo mejor era entrar en personaje y disfrutar de la comida como si fuéramos seres mitológicos, con un estilo exquisito y en mucha cantidad.

Nos preparamos para el segundo día de presentaciones con un desayuno a todo dar. Esta vez con algunas opciones adicionales, como una variedad de tartas que me gusto muchísimo.

También pude acceder a tiempo para poder hacer fotos de las opciones que teníamos antes de que todos comenzáramos a comer, porque el día anterior fue un poco tarde cuando me acerque a tomar las fotos, así que con ustedes, los platos completos del catering del desayuno que tuvimos.

Además para adentrarnos del todo en la cultura Romana de la ciudad, @roelandp nos introdujo a unos actores que dieron inicio al evento interpretando al emperador y sus soldados, quienes luego anduvieron por ahí divirtiendo a la gente y sacándose fotos.

Lunch

Then we continued with lunch, happily I could have time to take pictures and be able to immortalize the delicious variety of food we had.

This time I was glad that there was much more food than the previous day, because there was even a little left for the next break.

Luego continuamos con el almuerzo, felizmente pude permitirme hacer las fotos con tiempo y poder inmortalizar la deliciosa variedad de comida que teníamos.

Esta vez me precio que había mucha más comida que el día anterior, pues hasta quedo un poco para el siguiente break.

I don't think I mentioned it yesterday, but the bread served with the food was really good, the portions were different, but I loved the seed breads.

As for the food, even though most of the options were not vegan, there were again the delicious falafel and the typical Soparnik chard empanada. Also this time they included some spring rolls which were very good.

The addition to the omnivorous options of the previous day, were some super crispy chicken fingers, they had a mayonnaise based dip spread and the combination was very well accepted by the diners. Then we had a great variety of canapés, ham, cheeses and pickles that were addictive.

Creo que no lo comenté ayer, pero el pan que había para acompañar la comida, estaba realmente bueno, eran porciones diferentes, pero los panes de semillas me encantaron.

En cuanto a la comida, a pesar de que la mayoría de las opciones no eran veganas, si estaban nuevamente los deliciosos falafel y la empanada de acelgas típica Soparnik. Además esta vez incluyeron unos rollitos de primavera que estaban muy buenos.

La adición a las opciones omnívoras del día anterior, fueron unos fingers de pollo súper crujientes, tenían un dip para untar a base de mayonesa y la combinación fue muy bien aceptada por los comensales. Luego teníamos una gran variedad de canapés, jamón, quesos y encurtidos que eran adictivos.

Of course, I didn't forget about the sweet side. From the day before I learned that if I wanted to treat myself to more than one of the filled donuts they served us, I had to be quick, because these ran out very quickly. I enjoyed them with all pleasure. I also added to the sweet dish some portions of carrot, chocolate and nut cakes, all excellent.

During the Lunch Break, it wasn't all about the food. The @worldmappin team led by @lizanomadsoul entertained us with a dart game for travelers, with which they raffled off some Hive t-shirts and a super project sweater that went to the winner.

The game was played in stages and although I was very excited, I didn't make it past the second round hahahaha I couldn't concentrate having so much food around, too much distraction for me.

However the tournament was great and we were all attentive and surprised to the destinations that Liz proposed to aim, she was super attentive to all attempts and in the photo you can see that she was very serious about measuring as best as possible the distance between any possible draw.

Among the participants @akipponn , representing Japan, was very good at the beginning of the game, but then she was out very soon too. In the end the funny @bugavi made it to the last moment, taking one of the t-shirts and it was @iamlosi who, besides having disqualified me, ended up taking the beautiful #WorldMappin sweatshirt so Viva Colombia! Hahaha.

Por supuesto, no me olvidó del lado dulce. Del día anterior aprendí que si quería darme el gusto de probar más de una de las donas rellenas que nos servían, tenía que ser rápida, porque estas se acababan muy rápido. Las disfruté con todo el gusto del mundo. Añadí además al plato dulce unas porciones de tartas de zanahoria, chocolate y frutos secos, todas excelentes.

Durante el Break de la comida, no todo se centró en la gastronomía. El equipo de @worldmappin dirigido por @lizanomadsoul nos entretuvo con un juego de dardos para viajeros, con el que sortearon unas camisetas de Hive y un súper suéter del proyecto que iba dirigido al ganador.

El juego se desarrolló por etapas y aunque estaba muy entusiasmada, no pasé de la segunda ronda jajajaja no podía concentrarme teniendo tanta comida cerca, mucha distracción para mi.

Sin embargo el torneo estuvo genial y todos estábamos atentos y sorprendidos a los destinos que Liz proponía para apuntar, ella estaba súper atenta a todos los intentos y en la foto se puede ver que se tomaba muy en serio medir lo mejor posible la distancia entre algún posible empate.

Entre los participantes @akipponn , representando a Japón, estuvo muy bien al principio del juego, pero luego quedó fuera también. Al final la divertida @bugavi llegó hasta el último momento, llevándose una de ls camisetas y fue @iamlosi quien, además de haberme descalificado a mi, termino llevándose la hermosa sudadera de #WorldMappin así que ¡Viva Colombia! Jajaja.

Breaks

Naturally, a full day of talks is not only endured with two lunch breaks, between each group of talks we had 10 minute breaks to rest and chat briefly among ourselves, having at our disposal a wide variety of hot and cold drinks, although I am sure that during this second day we did not consume as many bottles of water as on the previous hot day.

Something I am infinitely grateful for, is that huge coffee pot that was ready even before 9 am, surely because they learned that we were arriving like crazy in search of coffee first of all. Having coffee available throughout the day was perfect, I think it helped us all to cope with the hours we spent there, they were interesting presentations of course, but it can become heavy to be in conference all day. The breaks helped us a lot.

Por supuesto, un día entero de charlas no se sobrelleva sólo con dos descansos para comer, entre cada grupo de charlas teníamos descansos de 10 minutos para descansar y charlar brevemente entre nosotros, teniendo a disposición una amplia variedad de bebidas frías y calientes, aunque estoy segura de que durante este segundo día no consumimos tantas botellas de agua como en el acalorado día anterior.

Algo que agradezco infinitamente, es esa enorme cafetera que estuvo preparada incluso antes de las 9 am, seguramente porque aprendieron que llegábamos como locos en búsqueda de café primero que todo. Tener café a disposición durante todo el día ha sido perfecto, creo que nos ayudo a todos a sobrellevar las horas que pasamos allí, eran presentaciones interesantes por supuesto, pero se puede llegar a hacer pesado estar de conferencia todo el día. Los breaks nos ayudaron mucho.

By the end of the event and despite being Thursday, the amazing @detlev surprised us at the conclusion of his presentation of the #BeeSaturday project with a beer tasting for whoever wanted, he explained the particular work that this crypto brewery is doing, but the choices of beers were so many that I will have to make a post exclusively for it soon.

What I find very fitting is that he thought of everyone and even people who don't drink alcohol were able to enjoy a 0% beer to close the event with a well-deserved toast. cheers!

Before I left, I wanted to say goodbye to the team that was in charge of the catering and I would like to share in this post how friendly and attentive the waiters were at all times. I had a lot of fun with some of their answers because in their seriousness they had a great sense of humor. The nicest of all, he confided to me early on that the beers reserved for the end had been the idea of a curious gentleman who was wearing a t-shirt with his own face printed on it hahahaha that made me laugh a lot @detlev

On several occasions during those two days, I extended my gratitude and agreement with their work, for which they had many signs of joy and satisfaction. I believe that our blockchain is characterized by human talent, by the quality of the people who make life in this blockchain and I feel it is important that we transfer at all times that feeling with each person who is supporting us, even indirectly as employees of a catering, to carry out events like this that allow us to add so much value to our ecosystem.

Al final del evento y a pesar de ser jueves, el increíble @detlev nos sorprendió al final de su presentación del proyecto #BeeSaturday con una cata de cervezas para el que quisiera, explicó el trabajo particular que está realizando esta cripto cervecería, pero las opciones de cervezas eran tantas que tendré que hacer una publicación exclusivamente para ello próximamente.

Lo que me precio muy adecuado es que pensó en todos e incluso personas que no beben alcohol pudieron disfrutar de una cerveza 0% para cerrar el evento con un merecido brindis. ¡Salud!

Antes de irme, quise despedirme del equipo que se encargaba del catering y me gustaría compartir en esta publicación lo amables y atentos que fueron los camareros en todo momento. Me divertí mucho con algunas respuestas porque en su seriedad tenían mucho sentido del humor. El más simpático de todos ,me confió temprano que las cervezas reservadas para el final había sido idea de un curioso caballero que llevaba una camiseta con el rostro de sí mismo estampado jajajaja eso me hizo reír mucho @detlev

En varias ocasiones durante esos dos días, les extendí mi agradecimiento y conformidad con su trabajo, para lo cual tuvo muchas muestras de alegría y satisfacción. Creo que nuestra blockchain está caracterizada por el valor humano, por la calidad de las personas que hacemos vida en esta blockchain y siento importante que traslademos en todo momento ese sentimiento con cada persona que nos está apoyando, así sea indirectamente como empleados de un catering, para llevar a cabo eventos como este que nos permiten sumar tanto valor a nuestro ecosistema.
