It was another busy day baking Christmas cookies for the giveaway trays. This year I'm making these Red Velvet Crinkles for the first time. I made a double batch of these, and by the time I was done baking them, that was enough cookies for one day.
Red Velvet Crinkles:
Cream together:
1/2 cup butter softened
¾ cup sugar
½ cup light brown sugar
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1 tablespoon red gel food coloring
1 ½ tablespoons milk

Sift together:
2 cups flour
⅓ cup cocoa powder
1 teaspoon baking powder
¼ teaspoon baking soda
½ teaspoon salt
½ cup

Add chips:
¾ cup white chocolate chips
- Chill the dough in the refrigerator for 2 hours than roll the dough into small balls.

Coating:
½ cup sugar
½ cup powdered sugar
- Roll them in the sugar than the powdered sugar and place on a parchment lined baking tray.
- Bake the cookies at 350°F. for about 12 minutes, cool them on a rack before storing.
